UTMB FALL 2014

I would like to start a thread for UTMB FALL 2014 since there I cannot find one. I am in the process of applying and this is the only school I am applying to. Right now, I just trying to finish my personal statement before I can submit it. I am a bit nervous and excited at the same time. So, how is everyone else doing?

So if your application is on hold, does that mean your on a waitlist?

Does anyone know how long they will be doing interviews for honors program? I haven't received a call or anything and I applied for it.

@cassidy, do you have any type of experience? Just wondering why you're on hold!

No I am not. If you are on the wait list your status changes to a triangle. I don't believe the wait list forms until after interviews are complete. Depending on how many spots are left after interviews are complete will determine if I am wait listed or not.

Not medical, but I do have job experiences that required communication skills that can be applied to nursing. I was not even asked at my interview. Honestly, I do not think that has anything to do with me being on hold. I am not sure what has me on hold, but I really don't think it is lack of experience.

I was asked to interview very early and they could see my experience level, and I believe if they had a problem with it they wouldn't have had me interview so quickly. It had to be something to do with my interview in itself! I probably will never find out though. /:

ALSO: Somebody specifically asked that question at the information session I attended last September if previous experience would help and the faculty member that spoke said "No, it doesn't really matter." However, when the students spoke they said it was one of the factors.

@Cassidy. I couldn't see your interview being the reason you got put on hold, it's only a small factor! But that's so strange... I'm wondering if maybe it's how they maybe keep their options open (which is really sucky...) to make sure they don't miss someone in later interviews... Idk, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that you'll be taken off hold soon and for the good aspect of it!

I believe they already did interviews for the honors program. I was only given a choice of one day for mine and that was last Thursday. They sent acceptances and declines today.

@cassidy: I'm so sorry and I can't believe that happened! Did they give you any explanation as to why? I am still pulling for you and hope you get good news soon!
