UTMB FALL 2014

Good news! Yesterday, I finally got a call and email inviting me for an interview! The interview was stated to be regarding the Honors program since I applied for that as well. I think mine is scheduled for Thursday, March 6. I am so relieved that I received something and I am really looking forward to the interview.

For anyone else who's still waiting for an invite/acceptance. Hang in there! :)

That's awesome!! :) I initially received a call and then an email about half an hour later. I scheduled my interview for 3:15 on Thursday.

Oh and is your mystar still a green circle? Because mine is. We'll probably get our statuses changed after this interview!

I'll have to call about the email on Monday. I can't check my mystar status-it tells me that the application server is down, but I'm hoping we'll get an update this week! Good luck at your interview!!

thanks @raidergirl95! It's been agonizing to sit here and wait without any news! I wonder of they put my application into the honors interview pile and maybe that's why I never heard back?

I will update when I find out and I hope to join in y'all's celebration finally lol!

I still haven't heard anything! /: I think I am the only one left on here that has had an interview and hasn't heard anything. Crossing my fingers that Monday will be the day. Congrats on the honors interviews! Y'all have to assume you are in the school if you're being interviewed for the honors scholarship, that is only for highly qualified applicants... So excitingg! (:

@Cassidy: have you tried calling or emailing? I called 3 times and emailed 2 different people before I was told that my application would be reviewed this upcoming week. Maybe they will review yours this week, too! Since they seem to do their updating to MyStars on Tuesdays, I would call on Wednesday if you still do not have a change. :)

Maybe they will review yours this week, too! Since they seem to do their updating to MyStars on Tuesdays, I would call on Wednesday if you still do not have a change. :)

I have tried calling once but was kind of rushed off the phone. (last week) I will try emailing and if I don't get a response with that I will try calling again. I'm just left hanging. I would think since I interviewed on the first day of interviews a decision of denial/acceptance/wait list would have been made already considering other applicant situations. I think you were right about your decision being on hold because you applied for the honors scholarship! That makes total sense. I am so happy for you getting invited for a second time, but I know your head must be spinning because you probably thought your interview process was over. Good luck, you will do great girl. I know I don't know you, but you seem extremely well spoken and intelligent! (:

@Cassidy: I just posted a long reply, but it didn't go through.

Anyway, thank you very much! I am nervous for the interview. I am not expecting to get in because I know they are extremely selective. I imagine everyone to be of super intelligence, and I consider myself to...not be, lol! I just work hard!

I do not like to call because I always feel like I am bothering someone and I know that they have a lot going on right now and I should just be patient. However, my husband pressed me to be persistent and to not give up until I get my answer either way. He also made the point that maybe my application is sitting under a pile on someone's desk and they might never know that it wasn't reviewed unless I brought it to their attention.

I do find it odd that the 3 of us interviewed early in this first wave and have not received any news, especially after other people who interviewed a couple of weeks after us did not have to wait very long at all. Maybe ours was put off to the side or fell through the cracks? Hopefully ours will be looked at today and we will receive some good news tomorrow! :)
