UTMB FALL 2014

I think I had everything complete including MyStar on January 23rd and I got interview for this first wave.

Mine was complete on January 14th. Just because you haven't heard something yet doesn't mean you won't - it's still early!

Ok y'all so I'm back from my interview and wanted to let y'all know what to expect. First, it was not intimidating at all so if you're anxious about it being formal with tough questions and multiple people-don't be! It was one-on-one and standard interview questions and a kind of review of your personal statement. The people I spoke with were super nice (as always). One thing that is tricky is the construction getting to parking garage, so I would suggest to map with an aerial view so you can see where all of the closures are, or use an app if you have one that does that. Congratulation on your interview! Did they asked you a lot of questions and how long was your interview?

Thank you! It is a huge relief to at least have that part over with! I stressed so much about! My interview was only about 30 minutes long. She told me they usually last about 30-45 minutes. I want to say there were maybe 10 questions or under, but I'm not completely sure about it. I answered other questions in some of my answers so that might have cut some out or some of the time. I was also told about a 2 week wait for acceptance or not. Hopefully I will hear some good news by then!

Just received an email that i am eligible for the honors scholarship, but it is due the 15th and I have to write an essay in 3 days ! In the email it said APA format. On purdue owl, it states APA format is double spaced. The email also said one page. So the essay is one page double spaced? Anyone know?

That is what I had most trouble with for mine. Apa format and double spaced and only one page. It was was difficult for sure and it took me 3 days to do mine, whereas my personal statement took me a couple of hours. Congrats on your invite - you can do it!

AScibby86, Did you do a title page and abstract? I am looking up the guidelines for Apa format and it shows a title page and abstract, did you do that ? Or anyone else?
