UTA Spring 2020

Hi everyone! I figured I'd start a thread for UT Arlington's BSN Spring 2020 applicants!

First off let me start by sharing a few things:

- UTA nursing school acceptance is based off a composite system that consists of your SCIENCE GPA (Anatomy & Phys 1, Anatomy & Phys 2, Microbiology, Chemistry), OVERALL GPA, and Considerations. ?‍?

- also, TEAS scores don't affect your acceptance into the nursing program, unless you don't meet their requirements of course. ? I'm taking mine this Friday so I'll let y'all know how that goes..

also side note: Considerations depend on wether you're applying to the online or on campus. We can only apply to either or..

As of right now, I have 3 considerations:

- military veteran

- 30 hours at UTA

- 3 out of 4 sciences at UTA

I won't know my official science GPA or overall GPA until after this semester ends....

How so?

didnt do on em on time to have em ready by now, because they so insisted on giving me titres first at the health center

Is anyone else having problems posting immunizations records on InPlace? I've paid and subscribed but there are no assignments, nothing on the to do list, and no ability to download records.

I’m having trouble uploading my documents as well.

it’s already annoying having to pay a subscription to upload documents to a site but when it’s not working probably smh ?‍♂️

Sorry I meant the survey for the wait list, not survey for acceptance

Yes I’ve been having the same issue

What do we do? I've already emailed them but since it is the weekend, they are unlikely to contact us back.

We can only wait at this point ? No need to stress, it's out of our hands. Seems like many of us have sent emails already. The email stated we have until 5pm on the 13th to respond, so we still have some time. I'm sure they will get the problem resolved and no one on the waitlist will be penalized, as it was an error on their part.

Did you apply for the AO program? I did, but now I'm thinking I should have just applied to the on-campus since everything is up in the air now. Fingers crossed it all works out.

True, honestly I thought the response was due today for some reason.

I did apply for AO program but maybe I should have just applied for the on campus. I assumed they would have more spots and would be relatively easier to get into the AO program but I guess I was wrong on that part too. I know a girl who applied to both but I'm not sure how that worked out for her

Yeah, I think this was the first application cycle that they made people choose one over the other. Comparing my score to those that got in to the campus program this cycle, I would have easily been accepted on campus. But AO tends to be more difficult for some reason, not sure why...they might have more applicants for AO?

I also applied to TWU but those decisions aren't made until late Oct/early Nov. I'd prefer the AO still, so I'm hoping to get the call off the waitlist so I can stop stressing! haha

So excited to start this journey this spring! Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted thus far!

I got accepted but will have to give up my spot because they screwed me with damn vaccines.

Did you get vaccines as a child? I don't have my records but my Mom assured me that I did. It's common for levels to be non-immune on titers if you got the vaccination 20+ years ago.... My PCP advised me to just get a booster and then wait 4-6 weeks to get the titers again. I'm currently waiting on my lab results - did blood work yesterday.

Did you start any of the vaccines yet?

In the March cycle of admissions, a lot of folks missed out on getting in due to not having all of their titers and vaccs done.
No one screwed anyone. The information was on the website https://www.uta.edu/conhi/students/imm-prelic/index.php

There is also a check list applicants should be following https://www.uta.edu/conhi/_doc/unurs/CB-BSN-UD_ApplicantChechecklist.pdf

They always start with titers before going through a series again. It is the applicants job to be on top of what needs to be done.

To comply with the requirement, you have to submit documented proof of all of your vaccines and upload them to inplace.

Which Vax are you talking about just getting a booster and doing titer in 4-6 weeks?
