UTA Spring 2016

Hello everyone!

Starting a thread for those of us who are applying for Spring 2016 for UTA's online BSN program. Just wanted somewhere where we can vent, talk and ask questions. Ill be applying with a 3.5 overall, 3.75 in my sciences and 88.5 on HESI. I will also have 2 considerations! Hope to hear from other potential applicants as well

Hello. I was accepted in the on campus BSN program at UTA for Spring 2016. Does anyone have idea what the weekly schedule will be like? I have two small children who currently do not attend daycare, but they will have to go when I start school in January.

Hey y'all!

Im applying for Spring 2016 as well, and am scheduled to take the HESI A2 in December.

Any advice on the test? We get a calculator but no conversion charts, correct?

Also, I'm taking micro and pharm in the spring. Recommendations of taking the full (slow/easy) semester micro at DCCCD or the short (fast pace) micro at UTA?

Good morning Joose,

I was recently called off the waitlist for both the online and on-campus BSN programs. I accepted the on-campus spot! Have you heard anything?

Hello MillertheGreat,

My advice for the HESI would be to focus on the Vocabulary section. Out of the four required sections for UTA it was the most challenging for me. Although I managed to score an 84, it was my lowest score out of the four. The HESI study guide/ practice books really helped me with this section though! Furthermore, yes you're only provided the basic computer software calculator (no conversion charts).

As far as microbiology goes, I would recommend taking it for a Fall/ Spring semester at a DCCCD college. Moreover, a summermester may work for you as well. It all depends on your work ethic! But, I'd definitely recommend taking it at a DCCCD campus.

I hope this helped! Feel free to ask anymore questions! (:

Wooo hooo! How exciting R_Jay93! I'm sure you are so relieved! Now if you don't mind.... can I pick your brain a little? :sarcastic:

1) When did you get your fingerprints done?

2) How many pre-reqs do you have left? (classes other than upper-division)

3) Did you have any extra considerations?

4) Science GPA? Overall GPA?

Congrats on being accepted!

Hey Joose,

Of course you may! Lol. 1) I'm getting my fingerprints done today. 2) I'm currently in my last prerequisites; FS-NURS 1300 and the upper division elective. 3) No extra considerations. 4) Overall GPA: 3.8 Science GPA: 3.5

I am currently wait listed for the Spring online course. Seeing here that someone recently got called. Does anyone know when the deadline for notification is? I am so on edge. Congrats to those who have gotten their acceptance.

I just got called off the wait list but was advised that you could be called all the way up to the day before orientation which is January 13th and 14th for online program.

I plan on applying in January. I am taking APII now at TCC and still need to take Chem 1 hist, 1 gov, pathophys, and pharmacology at UTA still before September. I have a 3.3 science GPA :/ and a 95 on the Hesi and I am partnered with Methodist... don't know my chances but we will see.

Just when I was starting to lose hope, I got the call! I will be your classmate next semester R_Jay93 ! Everything is happening so fast, so I may ask you some things before it begins :nailbiting:. I look forward to meeting you at orientation!

That's great, Joose! Congratulations! And sure... ask me anything you'd like! I look forward to meeting you as well! Congrats again! (:

When is orientation for the campus program? I was put on the wait list and haven't heard anything yet.
