UTA Fall 2018

It seems that no one has started a thread for the Fall 2018 program applicants, so I figured I would rally us all together to support one another and share our experiences, stats, and where we are in the application process!

I received that email about my application being complete...hope March flies by fast so we can find out.

Has anyone received their blue card? I did my fingerprinting back in December while I was taking Intro to Nursing, but I haven't heard anything back from the BON. I haven't received anything in the mail from them either.

No complete email for me yet. I haven't gotten blue card, but I did my background check in Intro as well and the BON sent me something about it. I'm not sure if I have to do the fingerprinting being an LVN since they are already on file. We shall see...Did your email say when they would notify?

Got my completed email, I was so happy to finally get something, lol. Now more waiting....:headphone:

I got my completed application email too. I am so ridiculously nervous. I can't take it. I know that just really good GPA's aren't usually enough to get in and that you should have at least one consideration. I have 0 considerations. :(

Hey y'all,

I have a few questions. For starters, what is a "blue card"? Secondly, Ive heard mixed things about when our fingerprints are required. Can anyone clear that up for me? And lastly, my GPA is 3.0 science, 3.476 overall, and I have 2 considerations... do I stand a chance?

I think it really depends on what exactly the considerations are. Like, really special attention is given to the people working at partnered hospitals. From what I understand, they're in their own pool of applicants and they each have like 10 reserved spots per hospital or something like that. But the other considerations aren't nearly as important as GPA is. I also read an article that said the average nursing student at UTA has 1-3 additional considerations. I HOPE they go by GPA primarily.

Just so everyone knows, I spoke to an advisor today, and they told me that emails are going out either this week or next!

Well now I won't be able to stop checking my email constantly haha. I'm so over the wait!

Same, dude. I literally can't tolerate it. I wish I was either partnered or had bad grades so that way I could be a little less worried about my fate. LOL. But I'm honestly not sure if I'm gonna get in. I have great GPA's but nothing else going for me. *cries softly*

Anxiety is through the roof!

I've been having like one nervous breakdown per day for the past week. They're part of my schedule now. "Sorry, I can't go out at 2:30, I'll be hyperventilating while I study"

I'm in the same boat as you! I have great GPAs but zero considerations. If it's any consolation, my brother is in the AO program right now and he had no considerations either. His stats were: 4.0 science, 3.96 overall, and 94 or something on the hesi.. He was initially waitlisted but then they called him and gave him a spot in the program like a month later. He has told me that basically all of his cohorts in his clinical had the same experience with initially being waitlisted. I think they waitlist most of the AO applicants while they wait for the people who applied for both on-campus AND online to accept one or the other... if that makes sense.

I bet you'll be accepted to the on-campus program and possibly waitlisted for online.

OMG! I'm surprised they are there since it's Spring Break. I wasn't expecting anything until next week at the earliest.
