  1. I accepted an offer from the SICU today. So excited!
  2. I was chosen to be an alternate about a week ago. It was crazy trying to get everything done by yesterday's deadline, but I did it! I hope that even if I don't get called before the first day of class, I'll at least be accepted in the spring with an alternate consideration. Is anyone else in here an alternate?
  3. Hi everyone, I applied for the Fall 2018 AO-BSN cohort, but I was wait-listed. :/ I'm pretty bummed about how hard it is to get into this program. I just finished Patho, Intro to Nursing, Technical Writing, and Legacy of the Family this past semester, so all I have left to take is Pharm (this summer). I've already got my "blue card", titers, vaccines, etc. I'm all ready to go! I went ahead and applied for Spring 2019 in case they don't call me off the waiting list for the Fall... My stats: Overall GPA: 3.86 Science GPA: 4.0 TEAS: 86 cumulative ("advanced") No considerations
  4. Has anyone in the DFW area been called off of the waiting list? I wonder when they start making phone calls...

  6. I did mine a few weeks ago. Received my blue card from the BON in the mail less than a week later. I decided to go ahead and get it done because it will be required for any nursing program in the state of Texas. So, regardless of UTA calling me off of the waiting list, I'll still need/use it at my "plan B" school. Same with titers and updating my TB and vaccination records.
  7. I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to see if anyone could tell me where TAMUC usually does their clinicals? Thanks!
  8. Wait listed...
  9. I'm in the same boat as you! I have great GPAs but zero considerations. If it's any consolation, my brother is in the AO program right now and he had no considerations either. His stats were: 4.0 science, 3.96 overall, and 94 or something on the hesi.. He was initially waitlisted but then they called him and gave him a spot in the program like a month later. He has told me that basically all of his cohorts in his clinical had the same experience with initially being waitlisted. I think they waitlist most of the AO applicants while they wait for the people who applied for both on-campus AND online to accept one or the other... if that makes sense. I bet you'll be accepted to the on-campus program and possibly waitlisted for online.
  10. rkl1493 - no, I haven't gotten an email saying my application has been reviewed or completed. I was starting to get nervous but I guess each advisor does it differently like dvah1987 said.
  11. snpercy- Are you in the Dallas area? Because I am, and when I applied there was *not* a list of hospitals. I've emailed them about it and they say that they still don't know who the partner hospitals will be for this area for Fall 2018. That's why I'm super confused about how being partnered will factor in, how they'll place people for clinicals, etc.
  12. Is anyone else in the Dallas/Ft Worth area and feeling stressed about the clinical placement situation? They still don't have the list of partner hospitals for Fall 2018 :/ #1- how will they give credit/considerations for being partnered if they don't even know who their partner hospitals will be? #2- how will they know how many students to accept or which students will be best suited geographically to whatever hospital? In previous application cycles, they would have you select your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd clinical location choices according to which side of the metroplex you were on/how far you'd be willing to travel.
  13. Hey everyone! I applied to the Fall 2018 AO program and my stats are 4.0 science gpa, 3.84 cumulative gpa, and I (unfortunately) took the TEAS test which I found to be pretty challenging... I only made an 83 cumulative score on it, despite some intense studying the month beforehand. I feel like I could have knocked the HESI out of the park because it was the A&P section on the TEAS that really brought down my overall average. Bummer! Anyway, I don't have any other considerations so hopefully my GPAs are enough to get me in! Oh, and I'm currently taking Patho and Intro to Nursing. I'll take Legacy of the Fam and Technical Writing later this semester, and Pharm in the summer.
