UTA FALL 2012

Hey all, I thought I would set up a place to discuss the next application period for UTA's Fall 2012 nursing program. There was so much info in the Spring 2012 forum, thought it might be helpful to start a new thread...

It is very mysterious to me as well. I think I will email or call this week if I don't hear any news. My advisor is pretty nice, I can tell she is just really limited in what she can say. She always emails back same day so that is nice. Well, everyone keep us updated! Good luck!

Your stat is really high. Dont worry!

I got the call today...I'm in for Fall AP.

It still feels unreal.

Also, for those that want GPA information and considerations that were used in ranking...the Advisors won't email it to you...but they will send it to you on a degree plan via regular mail.

Good luck to all, hope your call comes soon.

Congrats to you tah0009!!!! Will you remind me who you're partnered with? I can't keep up lol! Thanks in advance!!

Actually Nikki, I'm not partnered.

I was just offered a job at THR last week, but UTA didn't know anything about that. I was hoping to increase my chances of getting in for Spring.

Thanks for the congrats, don't think it will sink in until I get the official orientation information.

Tah009 what hospital will you be partnered with??

Texoma Medical Center in Texoma.

Were you called off the wait list MEGREEN?

No... :( not yet!!

Is that near where you live?

To: MEGREEN

Not really. It's 2 hours north of where I live, but my grandparents have a house 30 minutes from there, so I will stay there on clinical days. When they called, they said clinical days would likely be 2 days a week, so I will make it work.

If I remember right, you work at Harris-FW, right? Doing Special Admissions?

I was hired at HEB and was wondering if you have heard anything about when Alliance will open and if there will be an option to transfer there. I live 5 minutes from the new Alliance hospital. Also, is THR flexible with allowing change in schedule? Like I was hired to work nights on Friday/Saturday, how easy is it to move around, change shifts and days that you work? Sounds like clinical days will change each semester and I'm hoping the hospital job will work with me.

Alliance should start hiring anytime now. They are scheduled to open in September. I also want to transfer there. As far as changing your schedule that depends on your manager/ supervisor. You can't transfer to a different facility unless you have been in your current position for 6 months. Most people that get into nursing school end up going PRN because clinicals change every semester.... It really just depends on your supervisor and if your fellow employs are willing to trade days wig you to accommodate school.

I have been called off the waitlist. I missed my call so I got an email to call in because my voicemail was full. I think there is a excel spreadsheet that was created for everyone's stats. My science GPA was 3.5 for the required sciences and my overall pre-requisite GPA around 3.7 or so. I took some classes online at UT-Arlington and I do have a previous degree.
