i finally got word from my recruiter! i'm going to May 24 COT. i was also promised january...then march... but anyway, i'm just glad to have finally heard. i'm going for NTP in Arizona and will be stationed at Travis. i'm happy i got my first choice for duty station.

any other people going to Arizona for NTP? let me know so we can exchange info about how it is down there.

mobro has may cot. There are a couple people doing NTP in Scottsdale that are in the January Cot. nursejess is one of those.

So there are some folks for you to look out for.

Phoenix/Scottsdale in June = hot (110*). July starts monsoon season and it gets hot and muggy with some really great storms! No worries though.... we have airconditioning!

i'll see you in may cot! i go to keesler for ntp and duty station though. i'm excited to see another may person!

I'll be happy to answer any questions you guys have about COT and NTP in Scottsdale. I leave for COT on Monday so when I'm finally back on allnurses, don't hesitate to ask in a thread or PM me! I know how much good information I got from people like CarolinahPooh on Allnurses, and I would love to do the same for everyone else:)

I was hoping for May, but was told that October or even next year is a possibility....

hey HNELLA...

i was told January initially...then it was March... and well, it turned out to be May. i guess it's because of the overwhelming amount of people that joined this fiscal year and the end of the last one. be patient is all i can say. keep yourself busy... good luck!

yeah.... i was hoping for may then it turned ti aug and now oct with the hint of 2011. I guess I will go with the flow. I cannot control when I start so I will live my life until I am called...

That's a good thought process HNella. I was told from the beginning I would go in January if I got my paperwork in. Packet was done in October. I'm still waiting. I have had no word, though my recruiter is great and keeps being encouraging. I figure I'll go sometime. Somedays it is really hard to wait. My friends gave me a consilation prize of a trip to Vegas to distract me! lol. That is in 2 weeks and it does help to plan something else for a bit.

i signed my acceptance letter and faxed it. i guess that seals the deal? or is it commissioning that seals it?

Nope, you've accepted their offer. Unless something drastic occurs, you're in!

CONGRATS!!!

thanks carolinapooh. btw... i think i've read most, if not, all of your posts on this forum. and they were all enlightening. reading your posts really helped clarify a lot of things that i felt were hazy when i started this journey. :)

Just curious... when did you do the oath?

i have only signed the letter of acceptance that tells me my COT and assignments. i haven't commissioned yet if that's what you mean.
