there is one I know of and her name I am sure is Kaylesh and she lives I think in Scotland and been here several years (must like it :D)

How are you finding working in the UK?

oh dear, i know kaylesh from an american expats forum, small world! there is one other nurse there also.

was hoping to find some others, i can't believe that there aren't more here in the UK.

i love it here and want to stay but am really finding it hard because the home office changed the time for ILR from 4 to 5 years and they have taken band 5 and 6 nurses off the work permit shortage list, which means i am pretty much tied to my current position for 1.5 years!!!

i am finding some of the changes in the NHS really difficult, i feel like my experience is not reflected in my pay. my co workers value my contributions but i feel limited because i don't have all the certificates.

anyway, maybe there are some others out there!

Specializes in med/surg.

We have a Canadian nurse at our hospital - not US exactly but close on the map! Does that count?

We also have South African, Phillipino, Romanian, Lithuanian, West Indian, Irish & Asian Indian nurses. How's that for multicultural?? We all get on just fine!

Hiyas All

Waving from Sunny(today anyways) Kingdom of Fife in bonny Scotland.YeP i am indeed the one from the expats forum.. Since i've been here over 7 years now i have dual citizenship. Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Kaylesh

PS. What do the trust have against agency staff looking to come back into the trust? siggggggggggggh

Sorry to hear you are having problems, regarding the pay I think that is similar for UK trained nurses, Banding was the worse thing they did although I was just qualified when they fetched the grading in and that was bad then

Hope things improve for you
