Anyone applying to UNF nursing program either for summer 2012 or fall 2012? I am interested to hear from fellow applicants or graduates about their experience in the program!

Hi danceluver!
I'm planning on applying for the summer 2012 program at UNF. I applied last year for Fall 2011 and made it up to the interview stage, but did not get selected. I'm hoping for a better outcome this time.:) Are you applying to any other schools?

Hi! I'm also applying for UNF summer 2012, I signed up for the TEAs next month and am also applying to UCF, FAU, USF and Rush University in Chicago because it has a graduate entry master's program for those who have a degree somewhere else and they require recommendation letters which I feel increases my chances because the rest of these schools base everything on grades and that's not fair. Good luck to all!

Hi guys!
I'm also applying for the Accelerated BSN for May 2012. I've got a few backups but UNF is my top choice. Taking the TEAS on Thursday at UNF, and I can't wait till its over. Are you guys applying for the traditional track or the Accelerated?

@Chesca6: That's great! :) I'm going to apply to USF as well. Good luck on the TEAS I found the study guide really helped. :)
@Eric: I'm applying to the traditional track. Good luck on your exam as well! :)
@lexicon28: why don't you think you got if i may ask you? I would think by that stage you're such a strong applicant--they just want to "meet" you? Yes, I am applying to other absn programs as well as direct entry programs-keeping my options open (i just want eventually to come out with the least debt possible : ) ) Taking the TEAS next month! I hope its not that bad? Anyone know? I'm gonna apply for the accelerated track and then if i don't get in the trad track bc that app isn't due till May....anyone know the difference between the two except the length of the program? Is it paced differently? What's the area like where the school is? Anyone know? Super excited!!
I'm not really sure why i didn't get in.. i mean there were a lot of applicants that were very well qualified and there weren't that many seats so.. i think that's part of it also my TEAS test score was 81% so.. that didn't really help me all that much.. this time around i'm going to be better dedicated to studying for the test. I kind of goofed around last year when i took it and should've been more serious about it.. it's not really that hard i don't want to freak you out about it lol, but i mean it's the little things like conversions and the chemistry and biology.. (i was never the stellar student at biology. i got through it and passed lol i don't want to write anything on here too damaging lol) if you get the study guide and go through it you'll do fine. :)
Hey guys-
I took the TEAS last week so I thought I would fill you in. The TEAS Study Guide is more than adequate for the Math, English and Reading sections. If your English skills are good and you know the concepts in that book you will be fine. As for the Science, I did not find the study guide to be too helpful. I think it just comes down to the amount of information the test covers. I also felt it was extremely unbalanced as far as the individual science subjects (I would say 50% of my test was chemistry).
Other than the science though it wasn't too bad. I got a combined score of 345 and that was with a 77 in Science. Hopefully it is good enough.

Hey, I am also applying to the ABSN for Summer 2012. I am curious to know what everyone else is coming into the program with. I have a 3.75 pre req GPA, with an 86 on the TEAS V. I scored 96.7 in science and 87.5 in math. I am hoping this will at least help me get my foot in the door for an interview. Does anyone know what kind of questions they are going to ask? The only one I keep seeing is about your integrity being challenged.

Hello everyone! I am applying to UNF's regular BSN program for summer 2012. I am going to be taking the TEAS next month and I'm so nervous about it.
I am in no position to move for nursing school, so I really hope I make it into UNF. My only other option would be FSCJ's associates degree in nursing.
Good luck to everyone!!
@runswimfly: i don't really remember too much of what the questions were as it has been quite a few months since i had the interview and I was so nervous when I did it lol um i do remember however that it was a group interview which looking back it definitely made the whole experience a little bit more calming since you were with your peers and it was more like a group conversation and sometimes someone would say something that would give you a little bit of direction and memory jog of what to say yourself. Hope that helps :) everyone was very nice and it went well.
@amanda.kristine: good luck on your test :) i'm taking mine next month as well. :)

The difference in the traditional and accelerated program is that you must have a bachelors degree in something else already.
