undecided on going to LVN program;future mother to be

I am undecided on whether or not to go back to LVN school. The reason being is that the program is full time, Mon-Fri. I am currently 7 1/2 months pregnant and I'm not sure whether or not I can handle being a mom and full time student. Anyone out there been in similiar situation? Any advice would be helpful.

How about making up your mind once the darling is born? I think it will be best. Best wishes to you. :)

I don't have your situation, but I would stay home with the baby if possible.

They are babies only once!

I had two babies and loved being there for them when they were infants. I loved nursing them, and I hope that you have considered nursing your baby, too. I am glad that I didn't miss their first steps etc.

Babies will grow and get out of diapers and go to preschool....I'd wait until then because by then children need more social interaction with others and it will be easier for you to return to school.

I would definitely stay home with the baby, baby's require a full time mother and take alot if work. Full time lpn school is incredibly stressfull and you won't have time for anything else. What I did was when my son was about 2, I started taking pre-reques at night, one by one, It has taken several years, but this way, when my kids are in school I can go into a full time program, and all the other classes will be done. I know it seems like it takes a long time, but believe me, kids seem to grow so fast, before you know it there in kindergarten. Good luck, congrats on the pregnancy! Babies are such a blessing!

I agree with the above posters.

If you can wait money-wise, I would.

Nursing schools will always be around, I'm sure, but your child will grow up and you can never get those baby days back.

Now, if you would be working full-time if you weren't going to school, then that's a whole different story.

We can have it all, just not all at once! :)

Another mom, part time student.

I am a mom of 3 kids:) I have been wanting to go back to school for nursing ever since my second child was 18 months old. Due to moving several times and having another baby that didnt happen. My baby is two and a half and I am going back in January:w00t: I will be taking only one class( I think that will be enough with taking care of 3 kids:chuckle ) But if I get accepted the way Im planning I will be done with nursing when my youngest starts kindergarten

Basically what Im saying is if nursing is what you really want to do and its meant for you to be a nurse it will be there no matter if you put it off a few years. Being a mom is a gift from God and you should enjoy those years you have with them while you can! They do go by sooooooo fast! You dont want to miss all the milestones!

Best wishes to you and your baby.
