UNC BSN 2016

Can anyone who has been accepted to any nursing program out there, shed some light on how to write a good essay?. I am truly struggling with formulating my thoughts into an essay. I know why I want to be a nurse deep down inside but I am having a hard time putting the words together without being too generic. Please help!!!

Does your program give you guidelines?

Sometimes I find if I just free write aka just throw all my ideas on paper, even in incomplete sentences and phrases I can find a theme and then develop my essay from that. For me it's easier to start in the middle or at the end and then work my way back. The intro sentence is usually the last thing I write.

Yes they do have guidelines, I have just felt that questions are so general that I did not know where to start. The intro has been the hardest thing so far to think about. Maybe I will start from the middle and work my way out. Thanks for the advice!

Anyone out there applying for the next cohort??:) deadline is Tuesday!

I am! I hope you got your personal statements in on time. It took me awhile to do mine as well.

Everything is relatively done, didn't realize we needed to send in SAT scores so I have a rush on that but other than that it's done!:)

The waiting game is on! I can't help but keep checking my UNC account just because I can hahahah. This process has been long but well worth it. Praying that I get that acceptance letter in March!

I applied! Yes, the waiting is very hard!! Sounds like we'll hear some time in early March?

By the way, SAT scores are not required - the admissions page notes that the SAT score request info an is an error.

Are you kidding me!? I called and asked what was the best option in sending my scores and they told me how to...it cost me $42 dollars for those scores!!!

I will be calling tomorrow

Yup, here's what the website (BSN Application Instructions | School of Nursing | The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) says:

SAT ACT?

SAT and ACT scores are not required to apply to the School of Nursing. Should your Admissions To Do List indicate that you need to submit those scores, please ignore the item as it will be corrected internally by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

That makes me so mad! I paid a lot of money to send those scores!
