Jun 11, 20187 yr I figured I would start this thread for anyone else who is applying to the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill's Accelerated Bachelor of Nursing program. Good luck everyone!
Oct 19, 20187 yr Hi all! I live in Southern Pines, NC and I received my acceptance letter yesterday! I look forward to meeting some of you, and best of luck to those still waiting to hear!
Oct 19, 20187 yr Thank you @gcfo! And of course, a little about me: I graduated from NC State University in Dec. 2017 with a BS in Human Biology. My undergraduate gpa was a 4.0 and I was involved in numerous service and medical related clubs while at NC State. I have my CNAI and CNAII and have work experience in Home Health, I've worked on the Ortho/Neuro unit at WakeMed Raleigh, and currently work full time night shift at Moore Regional Hospital in L&D and Postpartum. If you have any more specific questions please feel free to ask! Good luck!

You definitely deserve the spot!As for me, I don't really know what decision to expect, tbh. This is my second time applying to UNC. I applied to the traditional BSN program that started in the fall 2018 but unfortunately got rejected (i have not completed all the prereqs then). I'm from the Philippines where I earned my BS degree in Pyschology. My undergrad GPA is 2.95 which is really low. But I started taking the prereqs immediately when I moved here last year. So far, my prereq GPA is 4.0 which can hopefully pull up my cumulative GPA. I don't really have a lot of experience in the medical field. I worked as an English as Second Language (ESL) teacher for Korean students for 2 years in the Philippines. I started volunteering at the Women's Birth and Wellness Center at Chapel Hill (did this for 4 months), and the Belk Boutique in Duke Cancer Center (still doing it) last year to somehow get an exposure. After getting denied from the BSN program, I continued with the completion of the prereqs, and I participated in an honors project to further boost my application. I also finished the nurse aide I course, and will have my skills test on October 26th. (I tried applying to NCAT's ABSN, and CNA I listing is one of their prerequisites, but it went terribly because I wasn't aware of the required interview so I missed it!!!) Right now, I'm working part-time as a server while I continue taking more subjects to be able to apply to other schools if I don't get in UNC.Anyway... I'm just really hoping for the best. It is what it is! Good luck to all of us that are still waiting!!
