UCSF MSN FALL 2014

Just wanted to start a separate thread for those whom have applied for UCSF's traditional MSN program for Fall 2014. I personally applied for AGNP program, crossing fingers. I initially wanted to apply last year but welcomed our 3rd child last August and thought it might be too much to take on at the same time.

From checking out some older threads and asking Student Affairs, it looks like we won't get word until late March or even early April.

Hi Jojonavy,

Thank you for starting this thread. I have also applied for the Fall 2014 traditional MSN program. I am a CNM/WHNP hopeful and I am looking forward to hearing from admissions in March!

Hi Nessleek,

Good luck on the application! I think WHNP is less impacted so you should have a great chance to get in. UCSF is my dream school being from the bay area.

I just found out I got accepted into the AC/AGNP program! But I know that the FNP has not sent out their decisions yet. Anyone else going for AC/AGNP?

Thank you jojonavy for starting this thread! I applied to the 2014 FNP program but haven't heard of anything yet! Crossing my fingers!!

KelsRN, congratulations!! That is super exciting!! :) Did UCSF call you or did you check your status on the computer?

I got an email saying I had a "notification pending" on my application.

Woohoo! Congrats KeLsRN. Do you mind sharing your quals with us? GPA, experience, volunteer experience and when you took stats? I've got about 2.5 years in Tele / Step Down ICU, Graduated w/ a 3.8 GPA from Cal State Long Beach, a little volunteer experience and haven't take stats since 2007 but got a "A". Ughh, I'm hoping my lack of volunteer experience and my Stats course being soo far out won't hurt me. For the AC AGNP, I'm thinking you have a few years of ICU experience.

I have applied for the AC AGNP 2014 program as well and haven't gotten a clear answer on when decisions will be made....I see some have already heard?? Last I heard from the SON was "beginning of march". Just wondering if anyone has anymore details....Thanks!

Ughh wait is killing me. Called the student services and I guess they havent recieved much as far as who is admitted and it really depends on the specialty. KelsRN do you still work at UCSF?

Congrats on those who got the word!

I've applied for the AP Public Health Nurse/CNS specializing in HIV/AIDS, and I'm a little surprised that notifications have gone out -- I figured it would be into April before we knew.

Thank you for starting this thread jojonavy! I have been perusing allnurses for the last few months seeing if someone would start this topic up! I applied to the traditional UCSF Masters (speciality: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner).

I, too, am surprised decisions have gone out this early for Fall 2014 admission. Congratulations to those who have been accepted already! I will let you guys know as soon as I get any news (fingers crossed).

FYI, the application page now says the top NP programs are now full and closed to admissions. This may have been up for awhile though, and I just haven't checked lately.

I sure hope that doesn't mean everyone who got in has been selected and notified by now! My application page still reads "Under Review".
