UCF 2017 Accelerated Nursing Program

Hello,

My name is Yuan and I am applying for UCF 2017 Accelerated Nursing Program. I noticed that there was a thread every year on this forum for applicants to share their status and progress after application. So this is what this thread is for.

As for me, I have

Teas: 85.3% ( I might take it again at the beginning of January)

Overall GPA :3.56 ( it's not great:( )

Prerequisite GPA: 4.0

Good luck!

Yes, I did! But is this for everyone? I don't understand?

Nevermind, I see it says, "PLEASE NOTE: Congratulations! You have made it to round two! All round two applicants are invited to the Open House, admission is not guaranteed. We are still reviewing applications at this time. Final admission decisions will be made within three weeks from the Open House."

I didn't even know they did an open house before final decisions. I will be there! I hope I can meet some of y'all there!

I think its for people they are considering admitting because it says we made it to round 2

Yes, I did! But is this for everyone? I don't understand?

I also received this, and am interested in its ramifications? Is this for everyone who applied and is eligible? It came with a congratulation message but I wasn't aware there were "rounds" involved. Is this psychological warfare? Lol. The only way we would know is if someone did not get this email.

I also received an invitation. My status is "eligible". Thankfully I can go, but it stinks if people can't due to work/travel limitations, short notice! I hope this is simply an open house and not a means to disqualify some people who can't show up.

Does anyone know if this is the first year they have had the open house? Someone has already mentioned the fact that there was never any mention about a second round for applicants. It would be nice to hear what should be expected at the open house, if anyone has heard anything from previous years applicants. Good luck everyone!

So...I keep getting those orientation e-mails (just the general UCF, not the nursing ones). Is anyone actually registering for the orientation yet? It seems a bit premature since we won't know about our admission status until at least March, I'm guessing.

I don't want to pay the $65 only to not get in.

I'm going to call when the office is open tomorrow, but was hoping someone had already confronted this?

I have actually already done the UCF orientation because I applied last summer and deferred to summer 2017. If I were you, I would wait till being accepted into the nursing program before paying the $65. There's no point in paying if we don't know our fate yet!

You should not worry about signing up for the UCF Orientation until you hear whether or not you have been accepted into the Nursing Program. Yes, this is the first year that UCF is having the Open House.

Does anyone know if the Open house is mandatory? It was odd that they said the final decisions will be made 3 weeks after the open house. It makes me feel like the Open House is more of an interview. I have class Saturday and don't want to miss it, especially since attendance counts and we take a quiz.

I don't think it's mandatory. I e-mailed UCF and they said it's just for us to meet faculty and current students and they will answer questions we have. The decisions are still made based on our gpa, teas. I hope it helps.

oh thank goodness! I was freaking out when I saw this because I deleted my invitation to open house because it would be too long of a drive. When I saw this thread I was going to try my best to make it. It would've been 6 hours and I would have to cancel work. Good luck to everyone!
