Jul 9, 20206 yr Hiya folks! It's a bit early, but since the application period opens in a couple of months, I thought I'd start this topic to share support/encouraging words/info/nervousness.Is anyone else already excited for next September?
Apr 30, 20215 yr has anyone who got an acceptance received their ranking in the email? I got accepted as well but I can't see anything about grades/supplemental/casper ranking in my email ?
Apr 30, 20215 yr Hello everyone! Congrats to everyone who got in!! I am number 4 on the waitlist so very hopeful. I wanted to ask if anyone knows how the waitlist works. Will we receive an email or an SSC update if we get in? Thank you!
Apr 30, 20215 yr Congratulations to everyone that was accepted to UBC today (or earlier) for Fall 2021! I just received a notice that I am number AL-16 on the wait list. Does anyone have any idea what the chances of getting in from this place in line is?

From previous cohorts, UBC accepted around 35 people off the waitlist so I would say you have a very high chance of getting in!
May 1, 20215 yr Congrats to everyone who got in so far! I received my rejection email about an hour ago. For those of you who have gotten accepted/are waitlisted, could you share what you talked about on your supplemental application and how you studied for the CASPer? Thanks ?

For those that can see their rankings, where are they found?
May 1, 20215 yr Got waitlisted, but further down in the list. Casper really messed it up for me. I have offer from another school but I really wanted to it into UBC. I scored 1 in supplemental, 3 in grades (I thought 3.77 was good enough ??♀️) and 4 in casper.
May 1, 20215 yr Just got my rejection. Anyone know someone or resources of who I can talk to to discuss my supplemental and figure out how I can improve it for next time?

May 1, 20215 yr For anyone on the waitlist and curious about how far back you can be on the waitlist and possibly get accepted, this is what I found from the previous years: 2020: Acceptances released May 1st (deadline to accept: June 22) First movement of waitlist June 5th (#6) #35 LAST ACCEPTED 2019: Acceptances released May 2nd (deadline to accept: June 15) SSC updated May 6th First movement of waitlist June 10th (#7) #38 LAST ACCEPTED 2018: Acceptances released May 7th (deadline to accept: June 15) #34 accepted June 11th ? last accepted 2017: Acceptances released April 27th First movement June 6th (#19) ? last accepted Additionally, for years even further back (this is a comment from someone in the 2017 thread): In 2009: 17 people got off the waitlist In 2010: 15 people got off the waitlist In 2011: 20 people got off the waitlist In 2012: Didn't get a final number, but #13 got off the waitlist on June 21st In 2013: 17 people got off the waitlist. As you can tell, I have no life LOL

I'm waitlisted number 44, my CASPer and supplemental were ranked 1 but grades were a 3. For CASPer, I bought the BeMo casper test prep book which was really helpful for formatting the answers, and then I watched a lot of the multiple mini interviews videos on Youtube. There were also videos of med students, etc. explaining how to answer those types of questions. For my supplemental, I mentioned I will be done my BSc in Behavioural Neuroscience this semester. I talked about my experience as a research assistant at BCCH (I was in contact with patients, shadowed nurses, and communicated with surgeons and other departments). I work as a BI in a preschool program for kids with autism and have 1.5 years of retail experience. Volunteering with a research lab at SFU, hospital gift shop, and an afterschool program for kids. It really sucks that my grades were what got me waitlisted. I thought my GPA was pretty decent, but I think my classes were considered "easy," because they were a lot of Psyc and electives. I hope you get into other schools you applied to! This is super stressful.
