TWU Spring 2018

Hi!

I haven't seen a thread made for the TWU Spring 2018 application process, so decided to start one! I'm the type to worry, and I know I'm not alone, so what better place to vent than here? For anyone wondering, the application date for Spring 2018 is August 15th, 2017!

My GPA comes out to a 3.720 with TWU preference. I haven't taken my TEAs yet, but plan to soon.

How about y'all?

So I called in today, and no, we cannot apply to both. You can only apply to one campus.

I'm definitely applying to the dallas location then :) nervous bc I've seen people with a 3.9, an 86 on the teas and a previous bachelors get denied! I only have my GPA and future teas score going for me

Thanks! I'm applying to the Houston campus

I think you have a pretty solid chance. I spoke with an advisor about a week ago and she told me that for the fall 2017 semester the lowest points accepted to the Dallas campus was a 48.5. I know it varies a little from semester to semester but if you fall somewhere around there then you should have a good chance.

Hi everyone! :) This is my first time posting. I am applying to TWU Houston for the Spring 2018 semester with a 3.6 Nursing GPA and a previous bachelors from TWU. I took my TEAS yesterday and I scored an 82 but I think I'm going to retake it. I only studied the night before so I know I can do better.

I am applying to the Houston campus

Previous Bachelor's in Biology/Psychology GPA 3.2

No withdrawals or Fs on my transcript

I re-took some classes and also classes I hadn't taken before (Nutrition, etc.). So my TWU spreadsheet stats are

Nursing Core GPA: 3.885

Prerequisite GPA: 3.921

TEAS Composite: 92%

Math: 97%

Science: 98%

Reading: 80%

English: 100%

Points: 65.36

Those are awesome stats! You will have no problem getting in. :)

Thank you! From what I have heard about the Houston campus, it seems like you will have no trouble getting in as well.

Do yall know what they base their admissions decisions off of? Is it JUST looking at TEAS score and GPA and if you're a prior student or with a bachelor's degree? Because they didn't tell us to send in any personal statements, or volunteer work experience etc.

Yes they are only looking at GPA, TEAS, TWU student bump, and prior bachelor's degree bump. When you you at the info on NursingCAS it reiterates this. The good news is that they only take your most recent grade if you retake a class. I ended up retaking two classes to boost my GPA.

Y'all can look up the worksheet they use and figure out your point totals. It's a ranking system.
