Tweety hope you were able to take a nap

Stars that's disappointing that they haven't responded

NJ22 hopefully the full sleep study gives her some answers

Ado hope the car proves worth it

Yesterday was pretty good at work, wasn't too busy despite having a short meeting.  Got to work ahead a bit even

After work was pretty ordinary too, exercised and worked on a CEU.  A group I'm part of is going to the state capitol next month for lobbying, I decided to sign up.  Hopefully I won't regret the long drive up and back

Keeping an eye on the cat, her appetite has significantly decreased.  This has happened before multiple times, although it's been longer than usual this time.  Suspect it's just hairball, but will discuss with the vet if it doesn't resolve soon

Today have to work on the side project at work, otherwise should be normal.  Grocery shopping after work

Will get up to 60 today, rain expected this evening hopefully it doesn't impact my shopping

Good morning!

Again, I had early morning insomnia and got up at 5:00AM after five hours sleep.  Will stay up and get some chores, cooking and shopping done.  Hope to go to yoga as well.  Was going to the beach but my friend wants a concrete plan and I can't commit so I said I'll pass.  It's going to be unusually hot today, hitting 90 in some areas.  We are expecting another cold blast in the coming days.  I hate this yo-yo kind of weather.

Have a great day!

Our weather is doing the ups-and-downs, too. Winds are bringing in a cool front today and it should rain tonight. Warmer again for Thurs-Sat, then Sunday drops to a high of 53. Assuming no changes, of course.

Alan Rickman does make a terrific bad guy. I think I didn't really know who he was until we watched Galaxy Quest (where he's not a bad guy). He would hate that it was that role that got my attention, probably, but since then I've come to appreciate him in several roles (including, of course, Professor Snape).

Life plods on here. One of the books I just finished had a line about how sometimes life is just putting one foot in front of the other. Hardly new or profound, but still hit a chord with me.

The lady never called back about the car. I thought we were putting off looking for a car until we found out what was going to happen with taxes but I guess Hubs just can't help looking. It doesn't help that Facebook Marketplace says, "Oh, you're looking at cars? Here's something! and Here! and Here!"

Ado~ I don't think Alan Rickman would hate that Galaxy Quest was the movie that you first noticed him in. That was a good movie; it was funny, and then kinda sad that his costume fell apart as time went on, and reality surfaced.

Well, here's some GOOD NEWS! I made an appt with a dentist who has a good reputation with dentures: 3/25/2026 at 9:45 AM. Wooot! ? And the best part is that I have the $ my older brother left to me in his will, so I can pay for them without having to pay bills from them every month. I'm going to slap down a check for the entire amount when they're done. I decided my teeth are more important than the passenger side dents, scrapes, and dings on my car; as long as the car FUNCTIONS, I don't much care how it looks. And they wanted more $$ for the body work and labor than I want to pay.

I am sad to say that I have yet to do the dishes I dirtied when I made the beef stew. I guess that will be taken care of in a little while.

Tinker says she wants to go out on a squirrel-hunt now. I'll take her out in a minute even though it is 85 degrees and sunny. That reminds me of when my BiL up in Mass stayed on my sofa for a week, and we woke up one morning and got the giggles because  we both had said, "Oh NO! Not another sunny day! ?"

I want to find a stuffed squirrel dog toy. There was one at the grocery store, but I didn't care for the design or color; it didn't resemble a squirrel very much IMHO.

Okay, Tinker said my minute is up, so I will put on her harness and leash, and brace myself for a good TUG around the yard.

Stars, I swooned over Alan Rickman as Colonel Brandon in the Emma Thompson / Kate Winslet version of " Sense and Sensibility"!  That voice !   My then - boyfriend got miffed with me because I kept talking about how handsome Mr. Rickman was, and all the English charm he possessed.  It's one of my favorite movies.

Hello all!

Ahhhhh, Alan Rickman!  That voice!  That presence!  First saw him in Truly, Madly, Deeply movie on TV.  VERY impressed.  Interesting movie, too.   Next noticed him in Quigley Down Under, what a VILLAIN he made!!  Of course, Tom Selleck starring in the film didn't detract from it at all!  Then I saw him in the Sense and Sensibility remake with Emma Thompson/Kate Winslet (as abbnurse mentioned above).  I have never watched the Harry Potter movies, but I have read about how he, in his approach to acting, made the Galaxy Quest character his own, especially the line "By Grabthar's hammer..."  A great actor, gone too soon.

We spent yesterday walking in Disneyland, got to hear several bands, and the weather was nice.  We walked almost 12K steps, 4.2 miles.  One would think, after being outside all afternoon, and doing all that walking, that I'd sleep well, yes?  No!  I was unable to fall asleep till maybe 4 or 5.  Dh roused me at 9:45, for I was to meet S and T at 11, to walk.  I made it!  Got home around 1245, and after lunch I took a little nap.  I just returned from the grocery store, we are re-stocked on most things.  I am still a little tired, I hope that will carry over into the evening so I can sleep well.

This weekend we will be at the monthly Gospel Sing in Oak Glen.  Otherwise we have no plans. Temperature is supposed to be in the low 90's for the next seven days!!  Oh my, is it really March??  That will not be pleasant.

We are under a little cloud, as our musician friend (in end-stage renal failure) passed away on Friday.  I feel for his son, losing a parent.  Although this was expected, it is never easy -- expected or not!  Our prayers are with him.  I'm glad we got to see our friend the week before.

That's all from here.  Have a good evening!

I agree, Alan Rickman does have very good looks and is charming, but is really a 'good' nasty guy. And it really does make me laugh! I didn't know he was in 'Sense and Sensibility'; I'll have to keep an eye out for it! Thanks for the info! (I don't have anything like extra options in my cable because of $$$).

I have added dianah's list of movies A.R. is in....if I don't write important or interesting things down in my notebook-brain, sometimes they disappear. And I want to be sure to eventually see all of those movies.
