NJ22 glad you were able to get leaky faucet replaced quickly

Was a good day at work yesterday, a bit busier than expected but nothing unusual, no new cases and no meetings

After work exercised and had a Zoom meeting of the events committee of the gay group. As I expected they asked me to be one of the co chairs for next year. Given that I'd declined to serve as a board member for next year I agreed to be a co chair, should be less involved than being on the board

Today should be pretty ordinary, nothing unexpected at work or after work apart from grocery shopping

Will be in the mid 80s today, air quality is considerably better

Good morning!

Joe, happy that you're getting a cat!

Dianah, hope you enjoyed yourself. Hope the cellulitis is getting better. Good that you got on top of it. When I got it, it spread very quickly and I went from zero to being in Urgent Care in one day.

J22, who knew you were a plumber? Very talented.

I've had some pretty stressful days in med-surg land and got home late and didn't post. They pulled a nurse Saturday 30 minutes into the shift because of a no-show on another floor. What is it with the no-shows. She says they messed up her schedule and she wasn't working. Monday was an OT day and wasn't as bad because they didn't pull from us for a change (well they did pull a tech at 10AM). I'll leave it at that because I"m leaving it behind.

I need to get my act together today. My kitchen is a mess. Laundry is pilled high. Stuff to do and clean. Having a routine air conditioner maintenance day sometime between 8AM and 10. It's now 9:12 but I'm not going anywhere for a while so he can be late if need be.

I used my overtime money to buy five sets of scrubs. This is likely the last time I will be buying scrubs. Strange thought.

I had no food and since I was getting Waffle's eye drops at the grocery store pharmacy I use I got some buffalo chicken fingers and mac and cheese. I need to do better, but it was good. LOL

I edited my post to say I bought new scrubs and now it went from being posted to needing approval.😝

I have to check my sexism because the air conditioning maintenance person is female and I said "he" above. First time that's happened in the 26 years I've lived here.

A quick hello here! I have a f/u appointment for the arm today, gotta get ready. It is much better, so I assume from that, that it is NOT MRSA (beings it responded to the Keflex). And yes, it did develop quickly. I SHOULD have gone in after 24 hr, but waited to see what would develop, and I was in Urgent Care in about 36 hr.

After my f/u appointment I will go to the grocery store. May make soup later. Am scheduled to walk with S. That's it for today!

Congrats, Joe, on becoming a non-board member ;) .

Gotta go. Later!

Good morning.

I like to think any nurse who's worked in a hospital setting is a bit of a plumber. connecting tubes, troubleshooting blockages and links. My biggest issue is loosing tight connections.

Dianah, did you see that the famous Big Bear eagle Jackie, was injured? According to facebook she is recovering and will be released today.

It didn't get as hot as predicted yesterday, but today may reach 90. Blurgh. I didn't get as much done yesterday as hoped. ds picked me up to go to Costco and I had one of my guilty pleasures, a Costco hot dog. Then I came home and fell asleep. I attended a Zoom meeting with some master gardeners and got a little peeved at one member who seems always to turn every meeting into a pity party.

Congrats, Joe. You seem like a natural leader.

Yes, dh and I have been following that development. Apparently the rehab center is waiting on results from several tests (lead, rodenticide, zinc), and in the meantime Jackie is feeding herself, and is ahem quite lively, shall we say, with the staff (good on her!). We hope she will be released back to her home area soon.

After the f/u appointment at the clinic, I have no new news about the cellulitis, which has pretty much disappeared. The skin around the initial bite/sting is still rough, and it is sometimes a LITTLE warmer than the rest of the arm. No neuro deficits. Glad it responded well to abx.

After the appointment, I got some things at the grocery store, and came home and had lunch with dh. As our internet has been down for about 24 hr, we watched a DVD, the fourth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean series. My Oh My, those writers have some imagination, gotta say! We will watch the last half of it tonight at dinner.

After lunch I made the chicken tomatillo soup, while dh was in contact with our internet service. They sent a rep out, who replaced our modem, which had apparently gone out after a short power outage yesterday. Bless dh, trying to explain all this to me! Bottom line is, our internet service is now restored!

No Stars, where are ya??? I hope you are continuing to settle in well.

Tweety, you can only do one thing at a time (though I understand the anxiety that rises when things pile up). I'm sure you will be industrious and whittle down those piles!

nursej22, I'm guessing that other gardeners pick up on the 'pity party member' as well. Too bad the agenda swings that way so regularly, spending repeated time on that decreases the group's efficiency (not to mention irritates 'em)! Glad you got in a nap.

I will leave in a couple hours to walk with S. It may be 90 degrees, but is not supposed to be 100, so that's good. We will seek shade as we chinwag!

Have a good evening!
