Too old?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I'll be 40 this April, and have 3 pre-reqs to take before applying. That puts me about 2 years away from potentially starting nursing school. Am I too old for this? Encourage me please...

40 is young! The next few years will pass either way, so you might as well go for it.

No way. Go for it.

Nope - not too old. I'm 45, just started. Couldn't care less, to be honest. In fact, I'd do this if I was 65 if it was what I really wanted.

No way! There are a few students in this years nursing program at my college that are well over 40 years old. You got this!!

I'll be 40 in August, I start nursing school in Jan. You're not too old.

Can you take more than 1 course at a time?

:no: Old is a mindset. I'm 42, currently finishing my pre-reqs and having submitted my application for nursing school.

If everything goes as planned, I will probably be done with school by the time I am around 50. Things happen at a specific pace for each person, and if you are certain about becoming a nurse, then go for it. :yeah:
