Thoughts on the recent declaration of 15K troops to Afghanistan

Published

Hello, all just wanted to hear others thoughts about the recent order to send 15K troops to afghanistan and the effects on our military nursing services.

Those units were shifted from iraq to afghan - possibly at a slightly earlier time frame but no real net increase.

I planned on when I commissioned that I would at some point need to be deployed.... once if not twice during the 6 years I signed on (and since I plan on staying in at least 20.... only because the SSA system will not be there for us so I need Plam B and the Army will do it for me) I think I can plan on a few more.

My thoughts.... when I get the call I'll be ready! they're ready for us (the troops defending our rights) I need to be ready to go and help them.

Well said, Edie. Im with you 100%!!!

BTW, we arent transferring from Iraq to Afganistan....my daughter just got home. They will cycle folks out and instead of sending the next batch to Iraq, they will go to Afganistan instead. Hubby leaves for Afganistan early next year.

My thoughts....hey! we can get debt free while he is there! LOL....of course, I will pray for his safe return.:heartbeat

FL mom I don't think myself or anyone else implied forces were literally moved from IZ to afgan... rather you can read the news and see the future changes in troop numbers are based on reflagging destinations of units in order to make the shift of numbers.

best of luck to your daughter,
