This week

Anybody else have an insane week? Monday & Tuesday were really nuts. Packed, ran out of stetchers, pts sitting in chairs in the hallway. My personal high point:

pt 1- rapid afib, cardizem drip

pt 2 - rapid afib, cardizem & heparin drips

pt 3- hypotensive, anemic, 5 units infused

pt 4- seizures. No drip, just some ativan and observation. My easy pt

pt 5- rapid afib & cp, cardizem, heparin and integrillin drips.

Sporty.

:eek: Yikes! If I ever had an assignment like that, they'd have to put ME on a stretcher! Hope next week is better for you!

Did you advertise a special on a-fib with RVR? Sounds like you guys did! :p

Yeah, sounds like a "buy one, get 2 free" deal. OP, you get voyager miles with that? :D

It was actually kinda fun. None of that group was in the er when I came in, started them all from scratch via triage, none by bus. #5 was mostly in the hallway until I could get #2 upstairs. Then immediately got another cp in the hallway, but he was cp "light", just chest wall.

My reward was a shift in fast track. It was like a vacation.

Yes my Monday and Tuesday were nuts but there was a diferent reason for that. Everybody was nuts getting over their highs of the Super Bowl since I live by the Frozen Tundra :) Most people were not to sick around here this week:) Patients are in a good mood when these things happen.

:yeah::yeah::D

Yup, lots and lots of sick people in my neck of the woods too, and I don't think we had one night where we didn't have a department full of holds and every "overflow" unit maxed out.

Must be a full moon somewhere... :uhoh3:

Yep ... it has been nuts! Kept looking to see if the moon was full...

Ok...what did you do to the charge nurse? he he...I don't know how many times I hear, "What did I do to you?" when I have to give another CP or such...sometimes the dept is just THAT busy...sorry for a tough shift :-)
