This economy

I was just curious how many others out there are being affected by our current economy? Our school just lost its extern summer program because hospitals are only hiring limited new-grads therefore they will not need to train many externs. How is this economy affecting you?

There are very few Patient care tech jobs available for the summer, and most are going to experienced CNA's who don't have time restrictions like nursing students do. I'd love the extra experience(wouldn't mind the $$ either), but it seems almost impossible to make it happen.

The hospital in my area just eliminated 60 jobs and has a hiring freeze. The only jobs available are those in LTC.
