The wait after the interview

Published

I had an interview going on 10 days now and every day that passes I feel like I'm not going to be offered the job. I was told the decision will be made by the end of the month and I know the month is not up but I feel if they wanted to offer the job to me they would have already... Do you agree? I haven't called HR because I was told the end of the month a decision will be made and its not the end of the month. What are you thoughts?

It's possible that they have a few more people to interview that cannot come in until next week, so they are not making any decisions until after those interviews take place.

They did not specify when I asked at the end of the interview. I just feel if they were truly going to offer the position to my they would have by now, or am I wrong?

They said the decision would be made by the end of the month. I would take that at face value. If they were going to make a decision by the end of the week, they would have said that. They must have had a good reason to say they weren't going to decide until the end of the month.

That's true to. Thank you for looking at it positively :). I really need a change from where I am at now and this position seemed awesome (but for some reason I have this feeling that Im not going to be offered it, and I been offered all my nursing jobs that I've interviewed for :()

Sometimes, there are reasons they can't get back to you right away. It took forever to hear about a job that there would be a second interview for. They said they'd get back to me in a couple of weeks, and it was toward the end of that period that they called to have me come back in. They said they'd get back to me this week about that interview, and I haven't heard anything yet. Their wait may kick them in the butt, though, if they want me- I accepted another position (that I want more) Tuesday!

Well, they offered me more money, and it's about 45 miles (and 90 minutes of driving) closer to home with a better schedule, but I got offered that job today. :) And I accepted. I had to let the other job know.

I hope your patience pays off!

I hope the waiting pays off

Did you get a call?

I am in the same position, only I have been waiting much longer. I did an interview on the 19th of December and was told that I would hear something back by the end of the next week. I have heard from HR twice saying there are still no updates and she will inform me when there are any changes. I don't mind waiting though, the job is worth it.
