That glorious moment when you're able to report off on your usually-pretty-stable patient who was completely off the rails all night long..... *aaaaaahhhhhhh*
Stopping for a greasy spoon breakfast on my way home this morning....I earned it, the way I ran my tail off all last night!

Our saving grace is that all shifts, no matter how horrible, will end at some point. It may be later than you wanted but it WILL END. And bacon does fix everything :)
Cracks me up how we all justify clogging our arteries based on the fact that we work hard! LOL

One of my unit's favorite breakfast spots, conveniently located a couple of blocks from the hospital, serves mimosas. That, combined with bacon, is the perfect ending to a crazy shift!
