Dec 1, 201015 yr Hello everyone!!! Anyone attending TECO (KISSIMMEE, FL) LPN Program starting Jan 2011? I can't wait. Sooo excited. I hear it is a great school. Good luck to everyone starting LPN soon. :stdnrsrck:
Oct 11, 201114 yr quit stressing, because it is NOT on the test. As you can tell from my previous posts, I worried SO much about the HESI myself. Don't worry though. It was super easy! If you are a little rusty on math, I would focus on fractions, decimals and conversions (I think one was mL to gallons or something like that). Other than that, PLEASE don't stress. It is not worth stressing over!
Oct 12, 201114 yr @ashcan You were absolutely right!!! I was definitely stressing for nothing. I passed today with an overall 95%
Oct 13, 201114 yr @EPPugh: Congrats! I'd definitely recommend a visit to Trina immediately (you can just stop in and see her), and bring the following to avoid having to make multiple trips back to turn in documents:Vehicle registration OR voter ID card OR utility bill dating from last year to establish residencySocial security cardDriver's licenseCopy of your HS diploma or GEDCopy of both your tabe and hesi scores. They are supposed to have one on file, but often times they forget or misplace them and it send you off and running errands. Best to be safe and keep them on handThree written references in a sealed envelope bearing the person's signature on the front. Double check to make sure they fill out every single line! It's so easy to just miss ONE little box and then you have to re-do it and cause more delays!Receipt of payment from turning in your applicationAs far as the drug test, I would highly recommend doing it right away! You don't need any paperwork or appointments, just walk into the BVL med clinic (Same plaza as McDonalds and the County Tax Collector) and tell them you are with TECO and want a drug screening, and they already have all the necessary forms. It can take a full week, and since the deadline is coming, everyone is rushing to get it done right now.
Oct 25, 201114 yr The October evening class starts tomorrow evening and I purchased all of the books needed by October 25, 2011. Whoa! This coming weekend, I have to go and buy the book bag with wheels. If I have to carry all of the books every class, I am definitely in need of this book bag with wheels.I am excited and anxious all at once!
Nov 3, 201114 yr I had my interview yesterday and I think it well... Now just sitting back and waiting. Hopefully my next post will be about an acceptance letter :-)
Nov 6, 201114 yr @EPPugh:Good luck! I had mine almost two weeks ago, and am checking the mailbox every day!
Nov 19, 201114 yr Very good advice!! Trina is the BOMB!!! and the drug screen at BVL is quick and easy.. (and not expensive) As a TECO alumni, I wish you the very best!!! Mrs. B can be quite tough on you!!! But the program is doable if you are commited to studying. Please feel free to contact me any time if you have any questions!!Val@EPPugh: Congrats! Nov 19, 201114 yr @EPPugh: I haven't received anything yet. It may be as late as the beginning of December @Val: Ha, thanks! I would definitely be interested in buying your books!
Nov 19, 201114 yr I would gladly sell/give you my books.. if they are the current edition. It seems like they update the edition every year or two so they can make everyone buy new books. LOL I know theA&P book changed with the class after mine. I don't know about Fundamentals, Med-Surg or Peds/OB.Once you get into the program and find out what edition they are using, feel free to send me a msg about the books.I know that several people in our class bought books from the class that graduated before us and saved a lot of money. I am all about "paying it forward" Keep me posted and let me know if I can help you in any way!!Best of luck!!Val@EPPugh: I haven't received anything yet.
