Life Slam. Fun class. Just stay on top of your reading. Nothing sucks more than reading 12 chapters 3 days before exam. :)

Welcome...I am not new to Excelsior, in fact, am closing in on the finish line, but I did do Lifespan last year. There are some really helpful postings here to help you with almost every course, and if you have a question or problem, just ask away, you are sure to get helpful responses. This site has been a big help for me, answering many questions about Excelsior, the exam process, etc. Good luck with your studies!

Have you tried any of the study guides available from the publishing companies, ie: RUE, Chancellors, etc? I used these and I thought they were very helpful to condense the studying down to what I really needed to know and giving a practice test at the end to ensure that I actually understood and retained the info. DO NOT SIGN a contract with any of these companies - they are very expensive. Go to ebay and look for used study guides, can usually get these for $40-$50. Good luck

Hi there, sure wish I were in your shoes but I'm just getting started. Hoping you can help or anyone else out there. I keep hearing about the study guides from excelsior. Can you tell me if they are free or do I need to sign up with them first in order to get them. I'm just starting sociology and received a study guide from one of those publishing companies. No I did not sign any contract with them. I was able to purchase a used study guide. Would love to see the excelsior study quide as a comparsion to decide what to do going forward. Thanks for any advise anyone would like to send my way.

The study guides are free and you can either download them from the excelsior site or you can request them. I find them to be very useful.
Good luck

I also have started life span, (chancellors I think. a friend gave me the study guide and book) Are you close to done reading yet? What is the next step? I have not registered with excelcior yet. I wanted to get the first classes done first. How long does it take to get a testing date, and how do I get one? Thank you, and good luck!
