Suny Downstate accelerated Program 2015-2016

Hello everyone!

I have been accepted into the Accelerated Nursing Program. I was wondering if anyone received any letter from Downstate regarding the orientation?

Also, is there a Facebook page for people who have been accepted?

Hey guys I saw this thread here when I was searching for New Grad Hospitals and I wished someone

would have told me about this terrible program beforehand.

They suck. I feel like I came here just for the money but I am now regretting not going somewhere they care.

My friends went to the path program or Drexel or even Stony and they love it. But this place is so unorganized. One professor

gives an answer that is right but is wrong for another. Most are just visiting Professors to so they dont care one way or another

there is no student teacher relationship.

You have to learn what they think is right and give them that.

I tried my best but I am just squeking by. STAY AWAY MAN go somewhere else you'll save your hair because

mine has literally started falling out here. I am trying to transfer to LIU but my credits won't go through.

No I have not heard anything yet. I think they are going to start calling in May.

Thanks for the replies! For those of you on the wait list, have you had to submit a deposit for another school yet? I already submitted two school deposits and with all of the information I'm hearing about how horrible Downstate is as a school, I may not even go if accepted- this is getting ridiculous!

I haven't heard anything yet.Did anyone hear anything?

BTW where else are there accelerated programs.I know of NYU and wagners.Did anyone apply there?

@bretfeyer I know what you mean I went here two years ago and hated it. I wish I had gone to NYU instead. They actually care about the students a little. Seriously the neighborhood the teachers the classes were all super outdated and I felt like I was teaching myself nursing at the end. You really have to try much harder there to feel like your on equal ground. Wagner might have been good since I live in Long Island but I know that your only chance is to try and transfer to a school and argue with them they sually let you challenge their nursing courses if your that miserable. PM me if you need advice but my advice is to stick it out since your already there, you know if you were just now thinking of going then we could talk the escape plan.

I got a call from downstate and I was offered a seat but now I have to make a decision between downstate and Remington in fl ps I was on the alternate list since November!

Have you completed all of the prerequisite courses for downstate? Has anyone else from the wait list been called back about a seat?

yes all of my prerequisite courses have been completed for quite some time
