In different ways many members of my family are motivating me to do well. My mom, who passed away a couple of years ago. She worked as a nurses aid for many years. My great aunt, the person whom I possibly most admire in life, worked as a nurse during Vietnam and The Korean War. Also my in-laws, who have always helped me so much, and been so supportive of me. I'm even motivated by the legacy of my grandfather-in-law, who worked extremely hard as a medical doctor, and set a great example of how far you can go and how long your legacy can live on if you work hard. I've been entrusted with his stethoscope, I'm going to hang it in a shadow box above my desk. My best friend, we've been such good friends for so long that we are really family. She's an RN, a great source of advice, encouragement, and motivation. My husband, who works hard to support me in every way. And my 2 children, who I want to provide for better financially, but perhaps more importantly, I want to set a great example of how to pursue and achieve goals in life.

2. I am a resident of Maryland but will be attending school in New Jersey

4. That it is a lot of work, but not hard. To make sure that I stay on top of my studies and being that my mother is a nurse with a MSN I will be calling her for help as often as I can

5. My mother I have always made her proud of me. I have never been pregnant, arrested, expelled, or embarassed so badly that she couldn't forgive me (even for some outlandish things I have done). She has been a a full time single mother since I was five years old after she divorced my father (for good reason). She and my grandfather put me through Howard University where I earned my first BS and now I am going to get into a career that can help her later on in life when she needs me

4 Stay organized and ask for help whenever you need it. Don't try to do everything alone.

5. God, my husband and two kids. I want to go on mission trips, maybe even move out of the country and help others overseas one day.

"Lifelong dreams are sometimes over-rated" As an explanation, I have not always aspired to be a nurse, it came to me later in life. I was talking with my MIL and said I was apprehensive if nursing was for me since it wasn't a lifelong dream and it seems that for a lot of nurses it has been. She said they can be over-rated and I've lived and learned and now know what I want.

My greatest motivation is those who have unwavering faith in me- my son, my husband and my IL's.
