Started NS today!!!

WEll, sort of. I went for the math class and met almost all of the students I'll be spending the next two years with TWo of them even live in GILBERT, one of them is a mile from my house, the other I still have to find out exactly where she lives. CAn I say 'carpool buddies'??? I'm so excited. :cheers: Also, someone to study with, whoo hoo. It's making me even more excited now to get started. The math class is pretty easy so far, it was nice dusting off the cobwebs of my brain where math is concerned. I have my interview with the lab RN tomorrow and another day of math class.

Next week the real fun begins!!!

Can you believe nursing school is finally a reality? It seems like we were just worrying about "the run"....I bet in another couple of weeks the only thing we will be worrying about is keeping up with our reading assiginments lol!

That is so great! So what's your math class like? At ours it was to prepare for the dreaded med math calc exam to go to clinical. My study partners and I spent so much time stressing, then in block 2 with all the IV stuff, but really looking back it's not too bad!

Does your math class end after you start clinical?

PhoenixGirl- My math class is the same, drug calculations and stuff. It's actually easier than I thought, but a really good refresher, YKWIM? It's been a while since I've done any math so it's nice to practice this stuff. Especially since it's sooooo important to do it right!! The class is pretty nice, I like the teacher (although she seems a little bit like she needs practice too, but she's sweet). My class ends today, we go practice some more and then take our final!!! Then orientation next week....

geez they make you do the math early over there! So is that to weed people out before you even begin? Yikes!!!

We've lost 11 out of 30, I think. Our class seems so tiny! And people are still failing tests so I wonder if we are going to shrink more.

Hey all!

We started our math refresher course (which is optional) today at PC. It was good to do some basic stuff to (as keli said...brush off the cobwebs) get the brain going again. We have homework/WebCT stuff to do at home and then a second, and final class on Thursday. After class, we have our orientation with the incoming class. I'm so excited! It seems like it's been a long time coming to get to this point. I need to savor the excitement/anticipation....before you know it, we'll all be neck-deep in assignments! :roll
