May 15, 201412 yr Thought I'd start a thread for those of us who've applied to Santa Rosa JC for Fall 2014 / Spring 2015. Does anyone know when we should expect to hear back about the lottery? It's my first year applying.
Jun 20, 201411 yr I also got a provisional acceptance for Spring 2015. I did not want to post until I passed my TEAS exam first. Now that I passed I can move forward; I am excited and nervous at the same time.
Jun 21, 201411 yr Congrats to everyone who got in! SRJC has a has a great and highly reputable nursing program. You are all very lucky for making the lottery:)
Jun 21, 201411 yr I've also been provisionally accepted for fall 2014! I'm very excited and relieved but still haven't heard a lot about their program... If anyone has been through srjc's adn program recently themselves or heard anything about the experience any info would be greatly appreciated :)I have a friend who's graduating from the program this fall. From what I've heard from her, their clinicals are always in the morning (beginning at ~6am), and can range from any day of the week for each rotation. (i.e. Tuesday/Wednesday for a rotation, then Thursday/Friday, then Saturday/Sunday.) They rotate the days your clinicals are on to make it fair for everyone. First semester textbooks costed her around $600 (used); however, the cost may be different now. The Race Building, where the Nursing department and health sciences classes are located, is a newer building. So I assume they have nice and new equipment. Don't know much else about the program, other than it having a reputation around this area for graduating highly respected and well-prepared nurses. Oh. Also, their scrubs are all white. Hope that helps!
Jun 21, 201411 yr You can find all the information about the ADN program including cost at this link. Santa Rosa Junior College: Health SciencesOnce you read through the student handbook it has all the details about uniform, clinicals and such. In your provisional acceptance paperwork it has the link to the handbook and other information.Anyone else starting in Spring? Also, I am taking the BLS class required on June 30th. They have a procrastinators special for $65 that day if anyone else is interested. If so, I'll post the link to their page.
Jun 4, 201511 yr I know that this thread is from the last application cycle, but I have applied to the SRJC for the fall 2015 semester and have received my email telling me I am "high" on the alternate list for spring 2016. Does anyone have any information on what this means and how many people who high on the alternate list get in? Thank you!
Jun 4, 201511 yr It will depend on how many people do not accept their offer into the program. I know people who were on the list who got in and people who did not. Just don't give up!
Aug 17, 201510 yr Hi got accepted in to spring 2016. I was just curious, durning the first semester, what was the days of the week for class like and the times? I'm asking because I live like 1.75hr from the college and want to figure out if I will be staying in rosa part of the week. Ty!
Aug 17, 201510 yr Clinicals are usually on Tuesday/Wed (day or evening) or Sat/Sun (day or evening). We also had lectures on Monday and Thursdays and some skills labs on Thursday and Fridays. You will spend a lot of time on campus. I'm in my 3rd semester and my schedule is brutal! My friend will also be starting with you. She is a great person! If you need books several people in 75C are wanting to sell their books.
Aug 17, 201510 yr What is 75c? Thanks for the info about what time does lecture and skill labs start. ? Also do you get to choose if you do day or night clinicals?
Aug 17, 201510 yr Each semester is broken up into sections 75.1A, 75B, 75C, and 75D. So 75C is my 3rd semester of the program. You do not get to pick what days or what times your clinical rotations will be. I've had every shift now. You also don't get to pick the facility you will be at either, it is all picked before hand by the instructors. Lecture times very by semester as do skills labs. If I remember correctly 75.1A lectures started at 8am. But they like to change it up so it could be as early as 7:30. I've got several 8:am times this week along with afternoon ones.
