SPC Fall 2016

Hello! I have not seen any posts for the Fall 2016 at St. Pete College yet!

Probably because it is too early.

Anyone else applying?

Stats?

I have a 3.5 Prereq GPA, and 3.7 Cumulative GPA.

Thank you! So what's that other stuff with the code that I paid 188 for??

They run a bunch of background checks (federal, county, etc.) and the drug test. You pay for it up front and then go somewhere to have it actually done. They also review and keep track of all the medical stuff (titers, vaccinations, physical exam) so it's all in one place. That stuff isn't due until we start clinicals I believe but I'm trying to get stuff knocked out now so I have less to do later.

I was lucky I'm up to date with all my vaccinations and had a varicella titer done years ago. I really just need to get a two step TB test, the new flu shot for this fall, and a physical.

Then we have all these school forms to upload but I don't think we'll get them from SPC at least until the semester starts.

Holy lord! Well, guess Its gonna be a busy month for me lol

I believe we have to just do the letter of intent, drug screen, background check, and orientation this month. Still a lot, but we'll have all the other stuff due by the time clinicals roll around

does anyone know what books we need and what the cost is? i am paying out of pocket for everything and need to know find the deals possible on books.

I'm in! Wooooot! I'm an LPN doing the transition program. Anybody else?

According to the cost estimate of the program, first semester books are the most expensive (like $1,200). We should ask at orientation if we use those books for future semesters.

Hopefully we won't need e eryday single book they recommend. I already got my scrubs from s runs and stuff..new uniform starting in the fall. We will be wearing get scrubs only, no white polo!

Blue. They have the spc logo embroidered on already. Scrubs and stuff is the only store thay has it.

It is the Cherokee stretch brand.

Hi,

Current nursing student here. The first semester books are so expensive but they include a good majority for future semesters (any specialty like ob, psych, or peds will be bought separately for that semester). The main book used in level one is your fundamentals book along with maybe your therapeutic communication, care plan, and a very small amount from your med/surg book. Med/Surg book is mainly used after level one.

As for uniforms they are all navy blue scrubs. Much better than our previous uniforms.

Hope that helps :)
