yes yes I know im nuts...finished ASN last weekend and already signed up as a non-matriculating student and enrolled in Statistics for Healthcare providers, Ethics in healthcare, and English 201 Expository writing....LOL...but since they are three gen eds i need regardless might as well get them out of the way! Start May 7th and end Aug 19th
Anyone else doing the BSN? Just curious of you experiences and how long it's taking or going to take you. They won't do an official evaluation of my credits until I get my RN license, which will be the end of may beginning of june before i can even test. since my classes do not end until Aug 19 anyway, this will work out perfectly for me to roll on into classes that start in Sept term.
Really hoping I can go full time and knock everything out before 11mo. If so I'm also considering Georgetown University FNP program, it would be another 18mo full time online and I would be DONE! Although I know i need to keep my sights set on ONE degree at a time!
I guess i should say too, that I have 36mo of GI bill money to use, so this would be the perfect timing with very LITTLE money coming out of pocket for me and my family!

April was my decision making month on this topic, and I am still undecided! I am enjoying work so much right now. I am trying to research what I will recoup financially and what job prospects are in my area will be if I complete advanced practice nursing. We are so saturated with NPs and PAs right now :icon_roll
Good luck on your next adventure Tasha!

I have only my Capstone to complete my Bacheleors with Excelsior. I can enter into the MSN program and have only 11 online classes to complete. But since the classes ate 15 weeks, I am thinking of going to WGU and then on to Post Masters Certification in Psych NP. Just another road to complete.

You guys constantly inspire me when I'm feeling stagnant or bored or whatever. :) Tasha, you rock! My former nurse manager did EC and loved it. I'm in the MSN (education) program. :)
Luna how is the program? EC said that I would only have the 11 online classes to complete after I finish up with my Bacheleors. I can't decide to stay with EC or go to another school. How is it so far for you?
The MSN program is good -- pretty much what I expected, writing papers and posts and doing some group projects. I start my fourth class next month. :)
Luna, a few more questions. I know the classes are 15 weeks, is it 1 class at a time? Or can you take 2 classes, just trying to get a completion. Schedule. Thanks
You can take more than one class at a time. I'm not, though. I might double up at some point, but right now it would be way too much! They're also making one class (NUR 502) only 8 weeks, and another (NUR 512) 3 credits instead of 4. Oh, and the campus visit that was required for the capstone is now a "virtual" retreat that can be done from anywhere! That last bit was great news for me, as I am government property and all of my leave/travel has to be approved. That stuff was a recent change, like in the last few weeks -- I got an email letter about changes to the MSN program.

Tasha, you go girl!! Keep your eyes on the prize! Everyone here is an inspiration for me. When I get discouraged, I logon and ready everyone's posts on their accomplishments and it gets me back in the swing of things. Thanks everyone!
so the capstone for the BSN you have to go to NY right? that part kinda sucks...but i'll figure it out when i get to it much like i did with CPNE...can't see ANYTHING being as bad as the CPNE was! LOL i'm kidding CPNE wasn't bad at all looking back at it, it was just the unknown feeling that sucked!
