I imagine you'd be offered between $20 and $22 in Sherman, Texas.
You can negotiate, but as an inexperienced new grad you have no bargaining chips upon which you can negotiate. If you request a higher pay rate, HR can simply hire one of the hundreds of unemployed DFW-area new grads who will take the $20/hour with no questions asked.
Pay rates for hourly staff are based off a wage grid, and all new grads start at the same wage. Deviating from this wage could set the hospital up for legal troubles if it is ever discovered.
Exactly what has been stated. As a brand new graduate the only thing you bring to the table is your ability to learn. You have literally nothing to negotiate with. There is a huge surplus of nurses in the DFW area. This means if you don't like the offer that is on the table the employer has no reason at all to negotiate with you. They will simply move on to someone else. Not fun but it is a reality of the current nursing market in Texas, particularly for the new graduate nurse.
Best of luck and I hope you get the job.

Hello,
I am wondering what the new grad pay is in sherman texas? I have heard pretty low numbers in the low 20's. I will be a bachelor prepared nurse and may have a job offer in the works. Was just wondering what I could expect and if I can negotiate for a higher salary?
Thanks!
