Hi everyone,
I just sent applications for 2nd-degree BSN programs to Simmons and Curry Colleges, both in the Boston area. really hard to get in, so i'm freaking out a little... also have application in at ADN program as a backup. just need to vent a little about the anxiety of it all... after months... no, years, of working through prereqs A&P 1 and 2, Micro, Human Growth, and getting all A's :), and then spending so much time perfecting my essays and resume, i'm feeling confident that i'll be accepted to at least one, buuuuuut... argh. there is that B in chem and only a 3.3 the first time around. i just hope it's enough!
hubby and i are hoping to move to chicago area after school. any info on hospitals that are great, or ones to avoid??
Thanks for letting me blab

I think a 3.3 is not bad. I know some schools in Connecticut except 3.0 and up.
Good luck and west wishes to you. I will pray for you!
God Bless

stpauligirl,
Are you applying to Simmons' 18-month program that starts in June or the 24-month that starts in September? I will be applying to the 24-month one (the deadline is April 1st, hope to have my app in by March 1st). I will be starting my first prereq, A&P 1, next week. IF I get accepted, I'll have to take their accelerated chem prereq over three/four weeks at the beginning of the summer. The nice thing about the 24-month program, at least for me, is that some prereqs can be done during the program itself.
I'll be going down to Curry next month to get more information about their program too. I think I'm leaning toward Simmons though. Either way it will be a long commute as I live in NH.
Good luck - I hope you get in!!
