Selection...Going Crazy Waiting

I'm going to a technical college in my city for my LPN. I am on the selection list, considering this is my last semester of pre-reqs...finally! But I am driving myself insane waiting for the call! We will not get called until sometime between the 15th of this month through the 5th of January. I would hope they'd get it all done by the end of this month. The semester starts on January 9th.

I have a 3.62 and that's bugging the hell out of me! I worked as hard as I could to get an A in Anatomy, but even if I make 100% on the next assignments, I'm still stuck in B world. So, I'm going into selection with a 3.6 and their taking 18 students! My adviser is registering me to take A&P and SCT100 again per my request just in case I don't get in this coming semester so I can raise my GPA a little more, but she told me I may be surprised and get in.

I'm not sure exactly how many students are on that selection list, and not too sure on how many are above a 3.6...I really hope I have a high chance. Fingers are staying crossed!

I guess this just turned out to be a rant...anyone else in the same insane mindset right now?! :uhoh3:

I don't hear back until late-March! The wait will kill me. I'm so nervous about it

I hope all goes well and you get in, yes the waiting game is a killer it's very nerve racking. I was the same way in October, but I didn't get a spot. I applied at a out of county school, they take all apps for that county first then all others get put to the back, when they got to my app all the spots were gone.

So for now I am just hanging out until March to turn in my app in again, I will be reapplying to that school and the other school that I took my prereqs at for a possible August entrance either LPN or ADN program.

I am thinking about taking another elective class in Jan, maybe Theater 101, to improve my GPA to get over a 3.0 hump.

Got my fingers crossed for you, good luck on your final exam. :yeah:

Thanks girl. I hope I get in, but my adviser signed me up for the classes to retake just to be safe. I'd love to be able to take an elective or something pertaining, but none of that goes towards the GPA for the nursing program at my school. I wish it did! If I stopped attending, I'd probably go more insane through the next waiting period, lol. But, if I don't get in this coming term, or the next, I'll be waiting or might take the opportunity to get my CNA license.

I'll be crossing my fingers for you from now until then! :D

I know the feeling!! I was playing the waiting game for my school's RN program back in September... I was checking the mailbox everyday for my letter!! Good luck!! 3.6 is a solid GPA, I hope you get in!!

By the way to you go to WGTC?? Theres where I am and the computer class here is called SCT100.. lol I was just wondering because I've never seen it called that anywhere else!

Thank you! I really do appreciate it! :D It is an aggravating process to go through...I'm barely getting sleep! LOL

I go to MGTC! It's Middle Georgia Tech around the Macon area! They actually just changed it to COMP1000 I believe, but I haven't gotten used to calling it that yet.

Don't worry once you get in it will be worth all the sleepless night :) I am also in GA. West GA Tech is in the Bremen area.. about 45 minutes west of ATL.

Yeah it will! I've been feeling like an insomniac these past few nights. I'm just ready to find out! :D

That's cool, so you're probably like 2 hours away from me, give or take!

That Is Why I Was So Scared To Go To MGTC For Nursing. I've Heard A Lot Of Stories About The Selection List. I'm Going To Try Out GMC & See What Happens. But Good Luck Mindy You'll Get In . :)

Good luck! I won't be playing the waiting game until next year; I still have 3 semesters and an entrance exam to go. I'll be pulling for you.

BTW -- it's now COMP1000 (from SCT 100) at my school, too.

Try to relax and enjoy the holidays. You're going to get in, you've worked hard and done well. I truly believe that you're already in! Relax- there isn't anything you can do at this point but wait.. but you will get the call, I have faith.

I am crossing my fingers and trying to let it sit on the back burner for the holidays. Thank you so much for your kind words and your faith! :redpinkhe
