Second Thoughts About CNA Class

I'm really looking forward to starting my CNA class and eventually having my first paying in job in healthcare, I'm just a PCT volunteer in the ER now, but after reading a lot of threads and the horror stories associated with them I'm starting to have second thoughts. I guess I just have to keep telling myself it's only temporary until I get into PA school and the CNA job will help me accomplish that. Anyone else ever felt this way?

Most of the horror stories are from some of the nursing homes (LTC) or on high turnover medsurg units with low morale and DoN changes in both places more than an incontinent tube feeder.

However, if you have "ins" in an ER department, you will probably be able to avoid most of the drama. ER culture is a bit better from some of the other area's culture from my experience.

I am a CNA student and I like it ! Currently doing my clinicals in convalescent hospital and it's not that bad(actually I luv it :p). Today for example I've met this 106 years old woman with sharp brain and lovely personality , SHE WAS JUST AWESOME ! Every day is different but worth it.

Also we have this girl in our group that wants to be a PA but needs to volunteer first somewhere, so she decided to get her CNA (in order to be licensed and prepared for healthcare experience).

All the best
