work as CNA while going to school full time?
I currently work full time as CNA while finishing my pre-reqs for PA school and I'm in the process of applying at the moment. Stressful at time no doubt, but really have no choice and the experience is something I didn't want to pass up.

When is a good time to start applying for CNA Jobs?
Here in AZ you have to wait till you officially have your license. I applied to several places after boards and got lots of calls and offers but couldn't hire me because I didn't have my official CNA license.

PCU Night CNA
I've been at a SNF for about a year now working the 2-10 shift and applied for a PCU night shift at a local hospital. Passed the phone interview and got invited for an actual in person interview. I was wondering if anyone has any experience as a PCU CNA at night and what I can expect. Thanks

Advice for Accelerated BSN
I earned my BA from Arizona State in journalism a few years back and worked in the industry for quite some time. I moved back home to start taking some pre-reqs with the goal of going to PA school. The application cycle is coming up and I still plan on applying but in honestly my undergrad GPA was bad due to my immaturity at the time, but my pre-req GPA has been great, all A's and B's but still I'm looking into other possible options for my future in healthcare just incase. Currently I have a 3.15 overall and a science of around the same with just over 1000 hours as a CNA. I have been looking at some accelerated BSN programs and wondering if someone with these stats would have a chance of getting in? If I go this route I still have a few of the nursing pre-reqs to finish, mainly the psychology's. Thank you.

Is it worth it to become a CNA on my road to becoming a nurse?
I will be going to PA school and I currently work as a CNA and I can tell you I'm extremely glad I started working as a CNA. Learning how to effectively communicate with patients and have good bedside manners is just as important as everything else you will be doing.

Hospital PCA job and school
I had applied to many hospitals a few months ago and never heard back so I ended up taking a LTC job because I needed to start working. A week ago a hospital called me back for an interview for a PCA night job and it went well and before I get ahead of myself I just want to see if anyone has worked the night shift full-time while going to school four days a week, only two classes? It's a great opportunity and I would hate to pass it up but I don't want it to interfere with classes. Thanks.

Is it possible for a CNA to both work and go to school full time?
I work full-time, 2-10 (32 hours) at a LTC right now and I'm finishing two last pre-reqs (A&P and Microbio) going to school four days a week. It really isn't that bad, just have to learn to manage your time and stay motivated to push on. I'm getting all A's so it can be done no doubt.

How long did it take you to find a CNA job?

Group Home CNA
Thanks guys for the input. I ended up taking the Life Care job as it was closer to home, better pay and they were really good about working around my school schedule.

Group Home CNA
Thanks guys. I also got an offer at one of the Life Care Centers of America and I'm torn on which to accept as my first job.

Group Home CNA
I finally got my license and have received an offer for a CNA position at a group home for developmentally disabled adults with about 4-10 residents depending on what home I end up working in. Has anyone had experience in a place such as this and could give me an idea of what's it like versus a LTC or semi-acute setting? Thanks.

Waiting for CNA license
Jeeze I wish I lived in Florida haha. Ya I checked today and it just says "not issued". So frustrating and I just got another call back yesterday...

Waiting for CNA license
I passed my CNA class, Arizona state test and turned in everything to the state nursing board and have been applying to jobs but keep running into the "we need your actual license" before we can interview you. Is this normal practice for most places or will some hire under a temporary or something along those lines until I receive my license number? I keep getting calls but I'm hesitant to keep running around town if they won't go any further.
