School uniforms.. ugh..

So what does everyone wear for clinicals? We have to wear all white uniforms which are ugly and uncomfortable. The fabric is pretty stiff. Our school's colors are maroon and white, so why not wear maroon scrubs with our school's emblem on the front? But no.. White uniforms. They're from Dove, so if anyone else has to wear these you can relate to my agony.

I don't know why we just can't wear scrubs. Our dean wants us to look professional, but we look stupid. I just thought I'd wine about it for a while.. ;)

Anyone else have any school uniform horror stories?

eek!! button up! ours aren't that bad, white scrub top with the school logo and black pants

Our uniforms are all white with a blue smock. They aren't the most attractive things and I really hate the smock, but I think the white does look professional. The guys have to wear the blue smock thing and it zips up the front which is much less attractive than the girls in my opinion. My Journey as a Student Nurse

SoulShine75.. I like your Nursing student page and I think you guys look great in your uniforms! I start RN school in about a week! AHHH! I already have a BS and a bunch of my classes are going to transfer in... so hopefully I won't be in school too long. I have no idea what my nursing uniform will look like, hopefully not too bad! Thank you. I think our school mentioned changing the uniforms but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Even though I don't love the smock...it does have a lot of pockets and without them I'd be lost. :uhoh3:

We have to have black scrubs with ALL white shoes--absolutely no color anywhere! They are a brand called GelScrubs and are very soft and comfy. I can't wait to actually start wearing them!

Ours are all white too and they are hideous. We wear white see-thru scrub pants with a white button up oxford shirt and a jacket. The materials don't breathe and I sweat like disgustingly crazy in them. UGH.

For PEDS we are allowed to wear a colored jacket. Psych was dress clothes. Everything else is that marshmallow michelin-man thing.

We wear blue scrubs...they are pretty bright..we look like a pack of smurfs when a group of us is walking down the hall!!! But our school used to do the all white...so I feel lucky to have missed out on that!!!

Ours are the same as Soulshine's but with a navy blue smock. I hated them at first and then I started to come around...that was until we went to our first clinical site and the janitorial staff basically had on the same outfit!:trout: :trout:

we wear all white too, dove uniforms but a zip top rather than buttons. I don't hate them per se, but I certainly like regular scrubs better.

We seriously lucked out. All we have to wear are hunter green with gold embroidery of our school name. We can wear any style we want, as long as the color matches.
