Nursing Students NCLEX

I have Saunders Comprehensive Review for NCLEX RN 3rd edition. I was thinking about going out and getting the latest edition but is their really a big difference between the two? Is is still ok to use the 3rd edition? Any replies are much appreciated. Thanks!!

I wouldnt spend the money...in my personal opinion the key to passing Nclex is the repetition of the Nclex style of questions. I used Saunders/Davis/ATI and some mosbys to prepare for boards. I did thousands of practice questions in a 3 week span and I had very minimal anxiety during my test.

I really think the anxiety is worse than the actual test. Our teachers always told us if you consistently can get 80% or better on an Nclex style of test your ready to take boards.

I dont think there is going to be much difference in Saunders. TX for an MI is still the same, Morphine still has the same side effects, Bucks traction is still set up the same, the stages of grief are still the same etc etc etc.

FYI I passed with 75 question and left the test center with a huge smile on my face knowing I passed~~On the flip side though, I swear I got the dumby test as mine was just not that hard.

jk :)

I have the 3rd and I've worked through 3/4 of the book already going in to 4th and final semester. I was wondering if it was worth it to get the 4th ed. I looked over a friend's and it seemed 90% of the questions was exactly the same but there are some new format q's modeled after the NCLEX. So I will probably end up buying it anyway.

I just got the 4th and have to say I am disappointed. It seems to me that all the questions in the books are exactly the same with the exception of 1 or 2 new format questions at the end of each chapter. On the cd there is a section of alternate questions but not that many, imo and they are the same as in the book also. I don't know its a tough call.

There is enough of a difference with the CD, that I would encourage anyone to get the newer edition that is out.

If there were not enough changes made, then they only would have called it a revised third edition again.

i have 4th edition what can i say is there are alot new features added and it is more colorful. :wink2:
