Salary

Hi Everyone,

I've just recently accepted a position in NICU. I am a new graduate, and the pay i'm getting isn't much different from the Med/Surg unit I'm leaving. I'm just wondering what some of you started out making in the NICU? The pay doesn't change my decision or bother me. I'm extremly happy, grateful, and excited to have gotten this position. Just curious

There is no difference in pay between units where I work.

You dont get paid anymore than medsurg at my facility either.

Ok. Thanks for the info 8)

There's no pay difference between floors in the hospital I'm starting at either. It's pretty universal in the area I'm in.

We get paid more, but it's because it's ICU. There's a differential if you do ICU in my hospital.

No difference in units at my hospital either.

My hospital is more for ICU nurses, although we don't have a NICU.

There is no difference in starting pay between units in the hospital where I work either...although we NICU nurses certainly wouldn't mind if there was:)

No pay difference between units at any hospital I've worked at

No difference at ours either.

My hospital also has a differential for critical care nursing.

No pay difference, unless you're the "first nurse" that shift (first nurse can run transports, is capable of intubating, inserting lines, ect).
