Dec 29, 20205 yr Hello! I haven't seen a thread for Rush yet, fall 21 entry to the generalist entry masters program. I applied earlier this fall and received an interview invite a week or two later. Looking to connect with others!

Anyone here who did attend, do you have anything helpful you could share? Highly recommend getting a tutor during your first term First term classes are Mon-Fri and each term after that it shifts so that term two is four days class, one day clinic, then three days to two clinic, etc. Fall term may be online class with in-person clinic/sim lab, pending COVID Admission decision emails to be sent from NursingCAS on March 5, accepting 76, plus a small waitlist If you didn't check this out already, this is helpful

Feb 5, 20215 yr Done with mine too! I feel like I am on such a high note!! I had my interview with Terry Gallagher and she was so lovely. She asked me a very limited number of questions which was crazy, I never had an interview like this, but I talked a lot for both of them and it was very natural and fluid, like catching up with an old friend as @t_ericaw said. I also agree with @t_ericaw in that the actual interview is 15-20 min long the rest was for questions you had about the program. Overall, a lovely interview. The Rush staff aren't trying to drill you, it felt natural. GOODLUCK EVERYONE. Sending out nursing love for all~~ you GOT THIS WOOOOO
Feb 5, 20215 yr Done! I feel so relieved that it was an easy conversation. I had an enjoyable interview with Terry Gallagher. I agree with everyone above...just treat it like you're talking to a friend. You got this!! I hope we all make it in so that we can get to know each other in person ?
Feb 5, 20215 yr Hi everyone! I just finished my interview with Dr. Lois Platt and like other commenters before me have said, the interview was pretty relaxed (but definitely still an interview!) I'm glad to have finished it, but now comes the waiting game until March for decisions. Good luck to everyone that has their interview coming up! Remember to relax, don't over prepare and be genuine :)
Feb 5, 20215 yr Author My interview was today as well :) I came off a little reheorificed, but I don’t think that’s a big deal. The vibe of my interview was more “is rush a good fit for me” rather than “am I a good fit for Rush,” if that makes sense. thank you for reposting the sample interview questions! Basically all my questions were within that draw.
Feb 5, 20215 yr Thank you so much for the advice! I will definitely keep them in mind as I prepare. ?
Feb 7, 20215 yr is anyone else really really intimidated & nervous by this whole thing? Congrats to all of those who have completed their interviews already!

Feb 8, 20215 yr @FutureGreennurse42 @msy2 I understand you guys. it is a crazy nerve wracking experience! But honestly out of all of the interviews I've ever had this one was the most relaxed (and trust me I'm usually a sweaty ball of anxiety). My interview made me feel like they want to get to know me better and see is nursing school is a good match with me, my personality, and life goals. So if you want some advice I would say just know yourself. Memorise the lessons that you learned from your life and job experiences and what the role of a nurse is to you, and embody it. You guys GOT! THIS! I KNOW IT. Show Rush your full potential and beautiful selves. And keep practicing those practice questions, they may come in handy!
Feb 8, 20215 yr Hi everyone! I just had my interview this morning, and I feel pretty good about it! I hope it went well. ? Anyone else interview today? She mentioned that we would hear back by March 5th at the latest and I'll be posting updates here. Hopefully, we'll all be classmates soon!
Feb 8, 20215 yr I had mine today also - great experience overall x curious as to how the decisions will take place. I feel like it can be biased if it’s only one faculty member interviewing.
