Ahhh...that felt better.
Got my letter today. I'm an alternate. At least it's better than a rejection letter.
Time to wait some more...
Are there any more alternates here?

I just wanted to say...don't give up!! The next letter you get might be a yipeee instead of a roar. I have read that there are a lot of alternates on this site who have gotten a call that they've been accepted. Keep your chin up and your eye on the prize!!

Congratulations!!! I would be happy if I get in as an alternate when I apply. I would keep taking classes (BSN pre-requisites) and work till the next time came around.
Way to go.

Congrats! I have never read about an alternate who did not receive admissions if he/she was on a short list (10-20 students). So do not worry.... do what is asked of you as an alternate and think that you will be called to start soon. You will be surprise how many people at your school will choose another school or will decide to give up his/her spot because he/she does not have the money to start now. Good luck.

I was accepted into my local community colleges LPN program awhile back and gave my spot to an alternate. I have recently been accepted to the ASN program at another local community college. I hope to be accepted to another to which I applied but won't know until November. If I get in there, I will again be giving one of these seats to an alternate. Hang in there and keep the roar low, because there is a good chance you will get in.
