RNs who work from home?

Are there any RN's out there who work from home? I would love to hear from those of you who absolutely love what you do and/or love the company you work for. I'm starting to think about moving in that direction and look forward to your recommendations. Thank you!

I am a faculty member of an online nursing program. LOVE it, LOVE working from home - esp. in the winter when I don't have to go out into the frozen tundra in scrub pants!

How did you get started as an educator? Did you have your DNP before starting, or were you an instructor first, and then got the DNP and advanced from there? I've always been interested in becoming an educator some day, even on a part-time basis.

i love love love working from home!!!! im a case manager....for an insurance company....and i love it. i dont have much of a personal life, my kids are busy kids so i help them alot, so it can get pretty boring being home working by yourself with no personal life. but all in all. i love working from home. good luck to you.

I work form home as well and wish I had known about this a long time ago, what a well kept secret. Insurance companies are really not that bad and you do not have to deny (nor can you) based on cost...all the things we think of about insurance companies. To get into case management I started as a UR reviewer and am now in CM with ability to test for my certification this December. I am excited too and it is part of my goals at work so I better pass. It takes strong assessment skills even though you are not direct patient care you use your assessment skills when reviewing documentation.

Sorry- I just saw this! I started as a Clinical Instructor shortly after getting my MSN. Did that part-time while I worked PICU bedside and got my DNP. Once I had my doctorate I went to academia (and work from home) full time.
