RN Versant Program-Austin

If I was you I would be calling HR to check on the status of the application, just in case something is missing or there is a mistake....you don't want to risk it! What areas did you applied for? that could be another reason.....

The first time that I applied for this program I was living out of state and I got routed but no phone calls....I am not sure if the hire out of state or not....but at the open house last month most of the people came from different states. I was in the process of moving here and I had to buy a ticket to come just for the open house bc I really would like to get into this program....

Does anyone know how many times you can forward all of your application information? This is my second time applying and I am wondering if I don't get a spot for October if I can use my same packet and apply for February. I am crossing my fingers that I can get in this time but I have not received any phone calls for an interview yet and I suppose I need to be prepared.

If you are thinking about applying again for the residency I would really encourage you to attend their open house. they just have one for every cohort and you get to meet everybody there! this is really valuable. Try to update a few things in your application such as work and if you are not working in the health care system you should really think about volunteering at a hospital. Really this has helped me a lot.

Awesome! Congratulations!

I still have one interview left next week at a different hopital of the Seton family, so I will wait for that before I make my decision.

I know that is really hard trying to get a good start being a new grad nurse but really don't give up if you guys have any more questions, I will be happy to respond to any private messages.

For those in the program or newly accepted...Do you have a BSN? I am just curious as to what Seton prefers. Did you previously work for Seton? I would PM those who offered help but I don't think I can yet, how many posts must you have to PM? Thanks all!!

I have a BSN, but there are people in the program with an Associate's degree. They lean towards people with BSN's, but they will hire Associate degree RN's. I think it really depends on the Manager of the unit you are interviewing for and I think your personal experience has a part in the decision too.

If you have an Associate's degree, I would definitely encourage you to apply!

Oh, and I didn't previously work for Seton. About 40% of the people in the program worked for Seton before getting into the program.

Hi, I have an Associate's and I don't have any working experience in health care. However I have always had a job and I speak Spanish. During my interviews I got the impression that one of the most important things for them is to find people that they would like to work with and that is one of the reasons why most nurses are happy at Seton.
