  1. I would call the hiring coordinator at the facility that you interviewed at and ask about the position. I know some people have been notified of their acceptance in the residency. Good luck!
  2. Has anyone heard anything from Seton? Anyone with interviews or offers yet?
  3. Apply to all the hopsitals! Don't be discouraged or worried about a job, stay positive, it'll shines through. When you are home on your breaks make a point to go to the hospitals, introduce yourself to managers, go to the Seton open house FOR SURE! Networking is really the way to go to obtain a position. I would figure out where you want to work and start making some calls (maybe after the holidays, but you could start obtaining names/numbers now) Congrats on your BSN and welcome home!
  4. Do ya'll know if S&W has an internship located in Round Rock or is it only in Temple? Does S&W hire new grads without them going through the internship? Just curious, thanks!
  5. For those in the program or newly accepted...Do you have a BSN? I am just curious as to what Seton prefers. Did you previously work for Seton? I would PM those who offered help but I don't think I can yet, how many posts must you have to PM? Thanks all!!
  6. The best part about the Jump Start was the Q & A session with 3rd semester students. My class orientation with my teachers is where I received the bulk of the info on our classes. I wasn't involved with any group except my clinical group! I am sure that being part of a group will look good on your resume, though.
  7. Hi All! Just wanted to stop by and let you know about the Jump Start. I attended last semester and I don't want to sound negative but the seminar is very "general" and is arranged by people who are not necessarily going to be involved in your day to day nursing school adventures. With that being said, it is good to see your classmates and meet the nursing tutor. Just don't go in with any expectations about gaining details on your specific peogram. I had high hopes and was let down, which stressed me out. Anywho, just my thoughts. Good luck to you all, you"ll do great!
  8. I was a level 1 hybrid student last semester and I was at the hospital on Wednesdays from 6:30am-2pm and Thursdays from 1:30pm-7pm. We usually had an exam every 2 weeks that required us to be on campus for an hour or two.
  9. I took 1105 in the summer before an extended deadline and the dept included the class and grade into my final ranking...FYI. Good luck and you guys are waiting so patiently, I know it seems like forever!!
  10. I had a choice between CEC and EVC. I chose CEC and asked to be on a waiting list for Hybrid. I was told that there were so many people on the wait list that they were not taking any more names. The nursing advisor called about a week ago and asked if I wanted Hybrid...of course I said yes. I was surprised that she remembered since I didn't officially give her my name. I've heard great things about the online section and I am really looking forward to the semester.
  11. Yes, I did get in! Whew, I am so happy. It was approx ten days after the initial reject email that they sent the accept email. I was 3 spots away from being accepted originally, which made it tough initially to deal with. I have been busy getting everything together and trying to review info from 1105. I wish everyone the best!
  12. Congrats to us! I am so excited, I just received the email tonight to register. Did ya'll try your uniforms on or just order over the phone?
  13. Does anyone know how long the background check will take. The Precheck website says 3 days. Is this accurate? Has anyone been given permission to register yet? Thanks for any info!
  14. Thanks for encouragement to those of us who didn't make it! You must have had a 51 or higher because I was a bit below that and didn't get in. Good advice to those with degrees...wish I had mine! Did you choose the online option?
  15. The ranking numbers I have seen are for example 49.2568, so there are some small differences but obvioulsy ranks could be the same. I asked the nursing advisor this question, she thought for a moment and said they look at the date the app was turned in. I don't believe her for some reason. I bet they also look at GPA and HESI score but I really don't know! Well, I am just hoping some people defer this semester
