  1. Hi BRP RN, I started the Versant residency last week. I imagine that they were done with the hiring because I had received an offer more than two months ago. I would agree with the other post that advices you to come to the open house, when I was applying I was living out of state and also got a plane ticket to come just for that. Good luck!
  2. Hi, good luck at the next open house :) and here is a good piece of advice...bring 15-20 copies of your resume! Thanks to my husband I did that and I was surprised to see that most people were running out of resumes (some people just had one). About the Oct cohort, I believe that everybody has been hired for it. I wish you good luck and I really hope that you can get into the program for Feb! I know that it is a great program and I am very excited to be starting soon. Just go to the open house and let them see how much you want to be part of it!
  3. Hi, I am starting this fall as well and I asked HR about the dress code for the first day and she told me that since we are RN's we can wear scrubs. I also saw that same info in the web page that has the new hire info. My friend that got hire with me will also be wearing scrubs that day. Now I am just trying to figure out the color of the shoes....I remember seeing some black....any help?
  4. Hi, don't try contacting HR they don't have anything to do with the first part of the process. You should try with the Versant office. you can find their number in the hospital web page. Also just to let you know you always get an answering machine. Leave a message, a number and be persistent! That is my best advice :) good luck!
  5. Hi, I have an Associate's and I don't have any working experience in health care. However I have always had a job and I speak Spanish. During my interviews I got the impression that one of the most important things for them is to find people that they would like to work with and that is one of the reasons why most nurses are happy at Seton.
  6. I still have one interview left next week at a different hopital of the Seton family, so I will wait for that before I make my decision. I know that is really hard trying to get a good start being a new grad nurse but really don't give up if you guys have any more questions, I will be happy to respond to any private messages.
  7. I have been selected!!!! and I even got choices! I just can't believe it :dncgbby: Good luck to the people that are applying for the next cohort and don't give up!
  8. Hi Gradnurse7, If you are thinking about applying again for the residency I would really encourage you to attend their open house. they just have one for every cohort and you get to meet everybody there! this is really valuable. Try to update a few things in your application such as work and if you are not working in the health care system you should really think about volunteering at a hospital. Really this has helped me a lot. Good luck!
  9. If I was you I would be calling HR to check on the status of the application, just in case something is missing or there is a mistake....you don't want to risk it! What areas did you applied for? that could be another reason..... The first time that I applied for this program I was living out of state and I got routed but no phone calls....I am not sure if the hire out of state or not....but at the open house last month most of the people came from different states. I was in the process of moving here and I had to buy a ticket to come just for the open house bc I really would like to get into this program.... Good luck nurses!
  10. Hi, my application was aproved three weeks ago and it took a couple of weeks to get a phone call. I will be crossing my fingers for you! the areas that I applied for are med/surg, ortho/neuro and oncology. I went to the open house last month and I think that it really help me to get the interviews since they mentioned that people that I had talked to from those units wanted to schedule and interview. Good Luck!
  11. This is my second time applying for the residency program and in the last week I have been contacted by three nursing units for an interview!! I am very exited but also nervous about the process. Does anybody have an advice...really anything would help! I really want to get a job offer
