Sorry, can't help you out with your particular questions, but I've worked at both St David's (Round Rock, Georgetown, and North and South through All About Staffing) and I've worked at Seton Wilco. Seton is a much better facility than St. David's. Pays better, work is better, people are nicer. Good luck to you.

Hello! I've been accepted to the RN Versant Program. I could give you tips on how my interview went, but depending on the area, your interview will vary. You know what I mean? Different managers, different questions.

The manager asked me why I wanted to be a nurse, and why I wanted that certain area. I was also asked about stuff on my resume, and that was a majority of my interview. I would just say: SELL YOURSELF! The best way you can. Highlight awesome things about you. For me, it was hard bc I seriously hate talking about myself, especially the good things about me, but they want to hear that. And, if it's not coming from you, they will never know.

I was offered a position a week and a half after my interview.

Thanks for the info. How long ago was your interview? I can't imagine that theres much hope they will call me now at this point because its getting so close to the program start date but my fingers are still crossed. It was my top pick. What area were you accepted to? My #1 was ER and they said they had a few spots left in that department. If all else fails I guess I will apply for their next cohort date. I wonder if you have to reapply or if your stuff is forwarded for the next program. Well I appreciate your responce and good luck! It should be a very exciting opportunity!

My interview was in April, and I got into the NICU residency. Seton was my top pick, too! And, if you don't make it into the program this time, definitely try again! That's exactly what I did. I graduated in December (2009) and applied for the January cohort, but with no luck. However, I tried again, got an interview, and got the job! Second time was a charm for me :)!

I will be crossing my fingers for you, however, if you do have to apply for the next cohort date, just call the nurse recruiter and they will forward your application for the next program. Call them early, too, because you'll already have your documents ready to go, and they'll be able to "route" it to the nurse managers really early before all the other applicants start flooding in!

Thanks! Thats very helpful. I wasn't sure if I would need to type a new essay and get all new references. Thats good to hear! Were you able to find a job in the meantime? How did you make changes to your resume like jobs, passing boards, etc? Sorry for all the questions I am just very curious. I appreciate it.

Oh, don't worry about it! I know I, too, had a lot of questions about the whole process!

No, I wasn't able to find a job bc I soon realized, in Texas, if you're a New Grad/RN with no experience...the only way to get a hospital job is through a residency, and they only offer them 3 times a year. I was thinking about volunteering at Seton in the meantime, but even those programs were full! Crazy!

After I passed boards, I put BSN, RN at the end of my name, and that's pretty much the only thing that changed on my resume. Seton does request that you send an updated resume if anything has changed. Also, when you pass boards, you also have to fax a copy of your license. So, you have to fax an updated resume, and your RN license before the nurse recruiters can "route" your application. Other than that, your application will be done.

This is my second time applying for the residency program and in the last week I have been contacted by three nursing units for an interview!! I am very exited but also nervous about the process. Does anybody have an advice...really anything would help! I really want to get a job offer

Congrats! This is my second time applying also. My application for October was just approved last week and I officially applied again just this week. so far no calls yet. Just out of curiosity, what areas are you interviewing for? I was wondering what areas will be accepting new grads for October.. Thanks!

Hi, my application was aproved three weeks ago and it took a couple of weeks to get a phone call. I will be crossing my fingers for you! the areas that I applied for are med/surg, ortho/neuro and oncology. I went to the open house last month and I think that it really help me to get the interviews since they mentioned that people that I had talked to from those units wanted to schedule and interview.

Congrats on getting some interviews. I also applied for the 2nd time and have had my application approved but no interview yet. I am assuming you are already living in Texas right? I live in Las Vegas and was wondering if anyone knows if they conduct phone interviews for out-of-staters. I would be willing to fly in just for an interview because I really want a position at Seton but just curious. Good luck on the interviews maybe you could let us know how it goes. Thanks!
