RN training at hospitals

You can't become an RN through the hospital. You have to attend either college or community college and pass the nclex. They do have PCTech training at hospitals for nursing students.

Hello everyone. this lady I was talking to said that she was a nurse tech at hopkins and she said that they give RN training at the hospital. Just wondering if this is true or not since you have to go through so much schooling to even start your nursing classes. would definately like to know if there is a another alternative.

Maybe this tech was enrolled at at Johns Hopkins University? RN training through a hospital would be considered a diploma program, and I don't think Maryland has any of those anymore.

OORRRR she's talking about the nursing students who are there doing their clinicals. I did a rotation at Hopkins for school.

I know Good Samaritan offers RN classes to CNAs who already work there, through an agreement with Notre Dame. They also have an RN to BSN program at the hospital, but again, it's for current employees. Neither is a diploma program.

Perhaps Hopkins has a similar program.

I believe that Pennsylvania is one of the few states that has a diploma program left. Hopkins does not offer such a program, yet nursing students do rotations at the hospital
